Abstract
Setiap tahunnya, penduduk lanjut usia terus mengalami peningkatan. Mahasiswa perlu dibekali keterampilan, pengetahuan dan sikap positif terhadap lansia, agar lebih percaya diri dalam memberikan perawatan pada lanjut usia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan dan persepsi mahasiswa pendidikan profesi dokter gigi di UB tentang gerodontologi. Jenis pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa pendidikan profesi dokter gigi FKG UB sebanyak 225 responden. melalui kuesioner google form (online). Hasil menunjukkan gambaran tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa profesi dokter gigi Universitas Brawijaya tentang gerodontologi didominasi pengetahuan tinggi 69,3% (156 responden), tingkat persepsi mahasiswa didominasi penting untuk semua pasien lanjut usia 83,6% (188 responden) dan 61% (137 responden). Alasan tidak datang didominasi masalah transportasi 8,9% (181 responden). Masalah yang mengganggu perawatan didominasi kurangnya pengetahuan, kesadaran, kepedulian dan kepercayaan pasien lanjut usia terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut 9,3% (20 responden). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah gambaran tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa profesi dokter gigi UB tentang gerodontologi didominasi pengetahuan tinggi, persepsi mahasiswa penting untuk semua pasien dalam mengobati pasien lanjut usia, persepsi alasan pasien tidak memenuhi janji didominasi karena masalah transportasi, masalah yang mengganggu perawatan didominasi karena kurangnya pengetahuan, kesadaran, kepedulian dan kepercayaan pasien lanjut usia terhadap kesehatan gig
English Abstract
The elderly population continues to increase, an approach is needed through health workers in the form of oral health services. Students need to be equipped with skills, knowledge and positive attitudes towards the elderly, to be more confident in providing care to the elderly. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and perceptions of dental professional education students at UB about gerodontology. This type of research is descriptive research. The research was conducted on dental professional education students of FKG UB as many as 225 respondents. through google form questionnaire (online). The results showed a picture of the level of knowledge of dental profession students at Universitas Brawijaya about gerodontology dominated by high knowledge 69.3% (156 respondents), the level of student perception was dominated by important for all elderly patients 83.6% (188 respondents) and 61% (137 respondents). The reason for not coming was dominated by transportation problems 8.9% (181 respondents). Problems that interfere with care are dominated by a lack of knowledge, awareness, concern and trust of elderly patients towards oral health 9.3% (20 respondents). The conclusion of this study is that the description of the level of knowledge of UB dental profession students about gerodontology is dominated by high knowledge, the perception of students is important for all patients in treating elderly patients, the perception of the reasons for patients not fulfilling appointments is dominated by transportation problems, problems that interfere with treatment are dominated by lack of knowledge, awareness, concern and trust of elderly patients towards oral health.
