Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi jumlah lubang pada plat pemanas terhadap efisiensi pendidihan air pada proses pool boiling. Plat pemanas yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah berbahan alumunium A1100 dengan konduktivitas termal 222 W/m.

English Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of variations in the number of holes in the heating plate on the efficiency of boiling water in the pool boiling process. The heating plate used in this research is made from A1100 aluminum with a thermal conductivity of 222 W/m. This research was conducted using the experimental method, namely by heating the plate that has been given a hole with a variation in the number of holes 25, 100 and 400 holes that have a depth of 2mm. has a depth of 2mm. With the size of the length x width x height plate is 80 mm x 80 mm x 3 mm. The plate is then given a wall of acrylic so that it is shaped like a container. Then the research was carried out by observing the boiling process from the beginning of bubble formation until the film boiling process occurred. The variables observed in this study include plate surface temperature, water surface temperature, time and boiling process. The boiling process observed includes bubble formation, the process of bubbles rising to the surface, critical heat flux, transition boiling, and film boiling. From the test results, it was found that the more variations of holes in the heating plate, the faster the bubble formation process occurs so that it has an impact on the better boiling efficiency. This means that specimens with a variation of 400 holes have better boiling efficiency compared to heating plates that have variations in the number of holes of 100 and 25 holes. The results obtained from this study include the efficiency values of 25 holes, 100 holes and 400 holes specimens which are 75,82%, 79,27% and 83,47%. The three specimens have a higher efficiency value than the flat plate tested in this study, namely with an efficiency value of 72,16%. In addition, the heat transfer value of the specimen given the variation is also higher than the flat plate specimen, the heat transfer value of the variation of 400 holes, 100 holes, 25 holes and flat plate is 316 W, 277 267 W dan 264 W.
