Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi memberikan kemudahan bagi aktivitas manusia pada kehidupan sehari-hari, memberikan konsep atau cara baru yang lebih efesien untuk dapat dipertimbangkan untuk diterapkan. Contoh pada saat ini adalah penggunaan smartphone pada banyak bidang seperti jasa transportasi, perbankan dan perbelanjaan, dikemas dalam bentuk aplikasi mobile. Konsep tersebut yang diterapkan pada Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Malang dengan mengembangkan sistem informasi repositori institusional kedalam bentuk aplikasi mobile. Pengembangan tersebut bertujuan untuk memberikan opsi akses bagi para pemustaka karena terbatasnya akses di masa pandemi serta memberikan interface yang lebih menarik. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui, menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengembangan sistem informasi repositori institusional berbasis open source menggunakan metode SDLC model waterfall. Hasil dari pengembangan sistem informasi repositori institusional berbasis open source telah diterapkan pada Perpustakaan UNISMA dan telah dipublish pada platform application store yang umum digunakan. Dalam pengembangannya faktor pendukung antara lain dukungan aplikasi dengan tersedianya protokol pertukaran data yang populer digunakan, infrastruktur yang otonom dan terbaru serta dukungan dari Pimpinan Universitas untuk melakukan digitalisasi. Akan tetapi terdapat faktor penghambat dalam mengembangkan aplikasi yaitu belum diterapkannya single sign on sehingga tidak dapat mempublish hasil fulltext pada repositori dan kurangnya sumber daya manusia pada bidang IT. Oleh karena itu peneliti menyarankan bagi perpustakaan untuk melakukan perekrutan yang memiliki kompetensi IT dan menerapkan single sign on.

English Abstract

Technological developments make it easy for human activities in everyday life, provide new concepts or ways that are more efficient to be considered for application. An example at this time is the use of smartphones in many fields such as transportation services, banking and shopping, packaged in the form of mobile applications. This concept is applied to the Library of the Universitas Islam Malang by developing an institutional repository information system in the form of a mobile application. This development aims to provide access options for users due to limited access during a pandemic and provide a more attractive interface. This research is to identify, analyze and describe the development of an open source based institutional repository information system using the SDLC waterfall model. The results of the development of an open source based institutional repository information system have been implemented in the UNISMA Library and have been published on the commonly used application store platform. In its development, supporting factors include application support with the availability of data exchange protocols that are popularly used, autonomous and up-to-date infrastructure and support from university leaders for digitalization. However, there are inhibiting factors in developing applications, namely the single sign on has not been implemented so that full text results cannot be published in the repository and the lack of human resources in the IT field. Therefore, the authors suggest for libraries to recruit those who have IT competence and apply single sign on.
