Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari determinan struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan serta menganalisis peran dari good corporate governance antara struktur modal dan nilai perusahaan. Determinan struktur modal dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari struktur aktiva, profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan dan pertumbuhan penjualan. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis jalur untuk determinan struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan dan moderated regression analysis untuk peran good corporate governance antara struktur modal dan nilai perusahaan. Penelitian dilakukan pada perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di BEI periode 2012-2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Peningkatan struktur aktiva, profitabilitas dan ukuran perusahaan secara signifikan dapat mempengaruhi struktur modal, sementara pertumbuhan penjualan tidak dapat mempengaruhi struktur modal; (2) Peningkatan struktur aktiva, profitabilitas, ukuran perusahaan dan pertumbuhan penjualan secara signifikan dapat mempengaruhi nilai perusahaan; (3) Struktur modal secara signifikan dapat memediasi pengaruh struktur aktiva, profitabilitas dan ukuran perusahaan terhadap nilai perusahaan, namun tidak dapat memediasi pengaruh pertumbuhan penjualan terhadap nilai perusahaan; (4) Good Corporate Governance dapat memoderasi pengaruh struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan. Hal ini berarti bahwa penerapan Good Corporate Governance, dapat meningkatkan pengaruh struktur modal terhadap nilai perusahaan.

English Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze the effects of the determinants of capital structure on firm value and to analyze the role of good corporate governance in the relationship between capital structure and firm value. The determinants of the capital structure used in this research are asset structure, profitability, firm size, and sales growth. Path analysis was used to examine the effect of the capital structure’s determinants on firm value, while moderated regression analysis was incorporated to observe the role of good corporate governance in the relationship between the capital structure and firm value. This research was conducted on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2012-2017 period. This study finds that (1) the increase in asset structure, profitability, and firm size significantly affects the capital structure, but sales growth does not influence the capital structure. Then, (2) the increase in asset structure, profitability, firm size, and sales growth significantly influences firm value, and (3) capital structure significantly mediates the impact of asset structure, profitability, and firm size on the firm value but cannot mediate the effect of sales growth on the firm value. Finally, (4) good corporate governance moderates the effect of capital structure on the firm value. This means that the application of good corporate governance can enhance the effect of the capital structure on the firm value.
