Abstract

DAS Citarum merupakan sungai terpanjang di Jawa Barat yang bermuara di Muara Gembong yang memainkan peran penting sebagai sumber kehidupan bagi daerah sekitarnya, meskipun terkenal dengan polusi dan transpor sedimen yang tinggi. Total Suspended Solid (TSS) termasuk dalam parameter kualitas air dan dapat menurunkan kualitas air, meningkatkan kekeruhan, dan mengurangi transmisi cahaya melalui air. Klorofil-a merupakan parameter penting untuk menentukan kualitas suatu perairan, tetapi peningkatan turbiditas dapat menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi Klorofil-a. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan distribusi TSS dengan Klorofil-a pada perairan Muara Gembong, Kabupaten Bekasi, menggunakan teknik penginderaan jauh dengan citra satelit. Platform berbasis cloud seperti dapat digunakan untuk memproses data citra satelit secara terbuka atau open source. Penelitian dilakukan di hilir Sungai Citarum, tepatnya di Pesisir Desa Pantai Bahagia, Muara Gembong, Kabupaten Bekasi pada tanggal 20 Juni 2022. Data sampel air diambil untuk mengetahui nilai Total Suspended Solid (TSS). Data primer diperoleh dari pengujian di Laboratorium Inti Surya, sedangkan data sekunder berupa TSS dan klorofil-a diperoleh dari citra satelit Sentinel 2 yang diakses melalui platform Google Earth Engine. Pengambilan data dilakukan di 15 stasiun yang ditentukan dengan metode purposive sampling dengan bantuan GPS. Data primer dan sekunder kemudian diolah untuk mengetahui korelasi TSS in situ dengan data sekunder dan distribusi TSS dan klorofil-a diolah menggunakan algoritma penelitian Budhiman dan Wibowo untuk mengetahui nilai data di setiap stasiun. Hasil penelitian tersebut dilakukan uji regresi linear sederhana untuk mengetahui keeratan hubungan antara TSS dan klorofil-a. Konsentrasi TSS di pesisir Muara Gembong selama 2017-2022 tetap tinggi, dengan rentang 26,61-650,64 mg/L. Musim hujan memiliki rata-rata TSS yang lebih tinggi di muara sungai Citarum, sementara musim kemarau memiliki rata-rata TSS yang lebih tinggi di daerah utara dan timur. Klorofil-a tetap stabil pada kisaran 0,5-1,04 mg/m3 selama periode tersebut. Pola sebaran klorofil-a mengikuti pola sebaran TSS selama musim hujan dan kemarau. Terdapat korelasi signifikan antara TSS dan klorofil-a, di mana TSS mempengaruhi klorofil-a sebesar 51,52% pada musim hujan dan 44,58% pada musim kemarau. Setiap peningkatan 1 mg/L TSS menyebabkan kenaikan konsentrasi klorofil-a sebesar 0,000734 mg/m3 pada musim hujan dan 0,000762 mg/m3 pada musim kemarau. Hubungan antara TSS dan klorofil-a bersifat linier positif.

English Abstract

The Citarum River, the longest river in West Java that flows into Muara Gembong, plays a vital role as a source of life for the surrounding area, although it is known for its pollution and high sediment transport. Total Suspended Solids (TSS) are included in water quality parameters and can lower water quality, increase turbidity, and reduce light transmission through water. Chlorophyll-a is an important parameter for determining the quality of a water body, but an increase in turbidity can cause a decrease in Chlorophyll-a concentration. This study was conducted to assess the relationship between TSS distribution and Chlorophyll-a in the waters of Muara Gembong, Bekasi Regency, using remote sensing techniques with satellite imagery. Cloud-based platforms such as Google Earth Engine can be used to process satellite image data in an open-source manner. The research was conducted downstream of the Citarum River, precisely in the Coastal Village of Pantai Bahagia, Muara Gembong, Bekasi Regency on June 20th, 2022. Water sample data was collected to determine the Total Suspended Solid (TSS) value. Primary data was obtained from testing at the Inti Surya Laboratory, while secondary data in the form of TSS and chlorophyll-a were obtained from Copernicus satellite imagery accessed through the Google Earth Engine platform. Data collection was carried out at 15 predetermined stations using purposive sampling with the assistance of GPS. Primary and secondary data were then processed to determine the correlation between in-situ TSS data with secondary data, and TSS and chlorophyll-a distributions were processed using the Budhiman and Wibowo algorithms to determine the data value at each station. The results of the study were subjected to a simple regression test to determine the strength of the relationship between TSS and chlorophyll-a. The TSS concentration along the Muara Gembong coast remained high during 2017-2022, ranging from 26.61-650.64 mg/L. During the rainy season, the average TSS was higher at the Citarum River estuary, while during the dry season, it was higher in the northern and eastern areas influenced by the mixing of seawater and river water. The chlorophyll-a remained stable in the moderate range of 0.5-1.04 mg/m3 during that period. The distribution pattern of chlorophyll-a followed the distribution pattern of TSS during both the rainy and dry seasons. There was a significant correlation between TSS and chlorophyll-a, where TSS influenced chlorophyll-a by 51.52% during the rainy season and 44.58% during the dry season. Every 1 mg/L increase in TSS caused an increase in chlorophyll-a concentration by 0.000734 mg/m3 during the rainy season and 0.000762 mg/m3 during the dry season. The relationship between TSS and chlorophyll-a is positively linear.
