Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pekerja sektor industri marmer Tulungagung berisiko pajanan debu. Bahan kimia debu yang dihasilkan saat pengolahan batu marmer dapat mengiritasi saluran pernapasan yang melibatkan neutrofil dan monosit. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui jumlah neutrofil dan monosit pekerja marmer serta menganalisis kaitan dengan lama pajanan debu marmer. Metode: Dalam penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan desain observasional analitik menerapkan pendekatan cross sectional terhadap pekerja marmer Tulungagung. Uji Kruskall Wallis untuk menguji perbedaan lama pajanan dengan jumlah neutrofil, sedangkan monosit menggunakan ANOVA. Juga dilakukan uji korelasi kumulatif lama pajanan dengan jumlah neutrofil dengan uji Spearman, monosit menggunakan uji Pearson. Hasil: Tren penurunan jumlah neutrofil dari lama pajanan rendah ke sedang dan peningkatan dari sedang ke tinggi dengan rerata normal (4.16x103/mm3) untuk jumlah monosit tren meningkat dari lama pajanan rendah hingga tinggi dengan rerata normal (0.59x103/mm3). Terdapat perbedaan tidak signifikan rerata jumlahnya neutrofil (P=0.745) dan jumlah monosit (P=0.745) berdasarkan lama pajanan. Terdapat hubungan negatif sangat lemah jumlah neutrofil dan monosit dengan kumulatif lama pajanan (P=0.353;r =0.-0.151 dan P=0.517;r=-0.106). Kesimpulan: Tidak didapatkan perbedaan bermakna jumlah neutrofil dan monosit pekerja marmer berdasarkan lama pajanan.

English Abstract

Background: Workers in the Tulungagung marble industry sector are at risk of dust exposure. The dust chemicals produced when processing marble can irritate the respiratory tract involving neutrophils and monocytes. The aim of this study was to determine the number of neutrophils and monocytes of marble workers and to analyze the relationship with the length of exposure to marble dust. Methods: In the research conducted using an analytic observational design applying a cross sectional approach to Tulungagung marble workers. Kruskall Wallis test to test the difference in length of exposure with the number of neutrophils, while monocytes use ANOVA. In addition, the cumulative correlation test of exposure time with the number of neutrophils was also carried out using the Spearman test, while for monocytes using the Pearson test. Results: The trend of decreasing the number of neutrophils from low to medium exposure duration and increasing from moderate to high with a normal average (4.16x103/mm3) for monocyte numbers, an increasing trend from low to high exposure with a normal average (0.59x103/mm3). There was no significant difference in the average number of neutrophils (P=0.745) and the number of monocytes (P=0.745) based on the duration of exposure. There was a very weak negative relationship between the number of neutrophils and monocytes with the cumulative duration of exposure (P=0.353;r =0.-0.151 and P=0.517;r=-0.106). Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the number of neutrophils and monocytes of marble workers based on the duration of exposure.
