Abstract
English Abstract
Background: The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on growth and development makes the development of social independence, language, rough and fine motor skills problematic for children. The slightest delay in child development will affect the quality of human resources in the future. The problem that is often found in the environment is the lack of providing fine motor stimulation in early childhood, making children unable to carry out their own activities. One of the play activities that can stimulate, fine, motor, development is playing with plasticine. Aims: to determine the effect of giving plasticine as an Educational game Tool (APE) on fine motor development in children aged 3-5 years in the city of Malang. Research Methods: This study used experimental research using a pre-experimental research design (pre-experimental design) through an intact-group comparison approach and was tested using the Wilcoxon matched pairs. Results: based on statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test, the p-value = 0.00 ≤ 0.005, which means that there an influence on fine motor development in children aged 3-5 years to increase to the normal stage and based on the results of statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test in the control group, the results obtained p = 0.096 ≥ 0.05, which means that there is no influence on the fine motor development of children aged 3-5 years who are not given the plasticine play treatment. Conclusion: there is an influence on the fine motor development of children before the provision of plasticine and after the provision of plasticine on the fine motor development of children aged 3-5 years.
