Abstract
Lupus eritematosus sistemik (LES) dapat bermanifestasi dalam berbagai sistem organ dan dapat juga terjadi pada anak-anak. Pengobatan untuk LES dilakukan salah satunya dengan pemberian steroid dalam bentuk glukokortikoid yang memiliki berbagai efek samping yang dalam penggunaan jangka panjang salah satunya adalah penekanan rilis pituitari yang berefek pada penekanan hormon-hormon penting yang berperan pada perkembangan anak terutama status pubertas. Tujuan dilakukannya studi ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan steroid dengan status pubertas pada pasien LES anak. Model penelitian ini adalah model cross-sectional dengan 28 subjek yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Variabel terikat yang dianalisis adalah status pubertas dan variabel bebas adalah durasi dalam bulan dan dosis steroid (mg/KgBB). Uji statistik dilakukan dengan uji komparasi (uji Mann Whitney dan uji Chi square), uji korelasi (uji Spearman Rank), serta uji regresi logistik biner. Hasil analisis didapatkan tidak terdapat nilai yang signifikan pada seluruh uji (p value > 0,05). Kesimpulan yang dicapai dalam studi ini adalah tidak ada perbedaan, hubungan, maupun pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan steroid terhadap status pubertas pada pasien LES anak
English Abstract
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is able to manifest within various systemic organs and also affects children. Treatment for SLE involves steroid use in the form of glucocorticoids which have various side effects, one of which is the suppression of pituitary release, resulting in suppression of important hormones that plays a part in child development especially puberty. The objective of this study is to find out the correlation between steroid use and pubertal status in patients with juvenile SLE. The design of this study is a cross-sectional study with 28 subjects who met the inclusion criteria. The dependent variable that is analyzed in this study is puberty status while the independent variables are duration of steroid use in months and steroid dose (mg/Kg). Statistical tests were carried out using comparative tests (Mann Whitney test and Chi square test), correlation tests (Spearman Rank test), and binary logistic regression tests. Analysis of the data showed results that there were no significant values in all tests (p value > 0.05). This study concluded that there is no significant difference, relationship, or effect between steroid use and pubertal status in juvenile SLE patient
