Abstract

ASI eksklusif yaitu pemberian ASI saja hingga bayi berusia 6 bulan, selanjutnya ASI tetap diberikan sampai bayi berusia 2 tahun meskipun bayi telah diperkenalkan makanan. Cakupan ASI eksklusif di Kabupaten Malang masih tergolong rendah karena menempati peringkat 9 terbawah dari 38 kabupaten dan kota di Jawa Timur atau sebesar 63,7% saja pada tahun 2020. Oleh karena itu, pemberian ASI eksklusif perlu ditingkatkan lagi untuk mengurangi AKB serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan ibu dan bayi. Terdapat dua faktor yang menyebabkan ibu tidak menyusui bayinya, yaitu faktor internal (pengetahuan, pekerjaan, pendidikan, serta kondisi ibu dan bayi) dan faktor eksternal (dukungan petugas kesehatan, lingkungan, iklim, dan iklan susu formula). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara faktor internal dan eksternal ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan cross sectional dan dianalisis menggunakan metode chi-square. Seratus ibu menyusui di wilayah TPMB Indah Maharany dan TPMB Yulidha Ti’ani di Singosari, Kabupaten Malang terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan nilai p 0,000 (p < 0,05). Sementara itu, tidak terdapat hubungan antara pekerjaan (p = 0,426), pendidikan (p = 0,894), lingkungan (p = 0,105), dan dukungan petugas kesehatan (p = 0,621) dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan ibu dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif, dan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan di antara pekerjaan, pendidikan, lingkungan, dan dukungan petugas kesehatan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif.

English Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding only until the baby is 6 months old, then continued breastfeeding until 2 years old even though the baby has been introduced to food. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Malang Regency is still relatively low because it ranked 9th lowest out of 38 regencies and cities in East Java or only 63.7% in 2020. Therefore, exclusive breastfeeding needs to be improved again to reduce IMR and improve the welfare of the mother and baby. There are two factors causing mothers not to breastfeed their babies: internal factors (knowledge, work, education, and the condition of the mother and baby) and external factors (support from health workers, environment, climate, and formula milk advertising). This research is aimed to learn the correlation of internal and external factors of mothers toward exclusive breastfeeding in Malang Regency. The method used in this study is a cross sectional approach and analyzed using the chi-square method.. One hundred breastfeeding mothers in the area of TPMB Indah Maharany and TPMB Yulidha Ti'ani in Singosari, Malang Regency were selected as the sample. Results of this research indicated that there was a significant relationship between the mothers’ knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Meanwhile, there was no relationship between work (p = 0.426), education (p = 0.894), environment (p = 0.105), and support from health workers (p = 0.621) with exclusive breastfeeding. The conclusion is there was a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding, and there was no significant relationship between work, education, environment, and support from health workers and exclusive breastfeeding.
