Abstract
Evaluasi upaya preventif terjadinya bibliocrime bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Umum Kota Surabaya bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya yang telah dilakukan oleh pihak perpustakan dalam mencegah terjadinya bibliocrime terhadap bahan pustaka beserta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pencegahannya sehingga dapat ditemukan kekurangan untuk dievaluasi guna perbaikan ke depannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penyelesaian berupa pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa Pencurian (Theft), Perobekan (Mutilation), Peminjaman Tidak Sah (Unauthorized Borrowing), dan Vandalisme (Vandalism) dicegah dengan menerapkan aspek fisik berupa keamanan fisik perpustakaan dan penggunaan teknologi keamanan, dan aspek non-fisik berupa kebijakan dan strategi perpustakaan. Adapun kendala yang terjadi terhadap upaya-upaya tersebut adalah security gate rusak, penempatan rak koleksi perpustakaan yang kurang strategis, pengawasan secara mobile oleh petugas loker yang kurang konsisten, dan bimbingan pemustaka yang kurang komprehensif.
English Abstract
Evaluation preventive efforts of bibliocrime on library materials at Perpustakaan Umum Kota Surabaya aims to find out the efforts that have been done by the library to prevent bibliocrime on library materials along with the supporting and inhibiting factors so that deficiencies can be found to be evaluated for future improvement. This study uses a settlement method in the form of a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. From the research results it can be seen that Theft, Mutilation, Unauthorized Borrowing, and Vandalism are prevented by implementing physical aspects that is library physical security and the use of security technology, and non-physical aspects that is library policies and strategies. The obstacles to those efforts are broken security gates, the placement of library collection shelves are less strategic, mobile monitoring by locker officers are less consistent, and socialization and education to library visitors are less comprehensive.
