Sandy, Tezzar Aris and A. Syarifuddin Rohman, S.Pd., M.Pd. (2023) Eko-sufisme Sebagai Ide Penciptaan Karya Seni Lukis. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Eco-Sufism is a new discipline practice taken by the writer as an idea to create works of art focusing on paintings. The subject matter is believed to have the ability to convey the love and passion of the writer towards nature and spiritualism. On the other hand, the existence of Eco-Sufism out there in public can be one of the alternatives for people to see the problems that are faced by nature, such as environmental crisis on a variety of places. It goes alongside the visions of the writer, that the creation of the artworks with Eco-Sufism as a theme is expected to integrate ecology as a knowledge with spirituality based process of creating to strengthen the ecological discernment. This activity is also intended to give a clearer explanation of visuals created by the writer in regards to Eco-Sufism. In the process of creating, the writer chooses two theoretical basis such as metaphors and surrealism. In addition to the process of creating, the writer refers to a method accordingly initiated by Alma M. Hawkins that are defined into three steps including Exploration, Improvisation, and Forming. Throughout the instruments above, it is supposedly able to find ease for the writer during the process of creating which later will use acrylic paints on canvas as a media. Creation’s process of the writer will later produce eleven pieces of work that are entitled The Gate, Natural Connection, Private Line, Greening Ritual, and so on. The works will then be displayed as an exhibition in FIB Gallery, building A. Through the exhibit with “Eko-sufism as an Idea for Creating Paintings” as a theme to base on, it is expected to be able to bring awareness of the audiences in keeping their ethics to the nature and the surrounding environments.
