Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji intertekstualitas dalam film Drive My Car (2021) dan mengeksplorasi teknik yang digunakan serta implikasinya. Melalui analisis tiga interteks, yaitu Scheherazade (2017), Waiting for Godot (1953), dan Uncle Vanya (1959), pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang kompleksitas naratif dan resonansi tematik tercapai. Penelitian ini mengungkap penggunaan kutipan langsung dan tidak langsung sebagai teknik intertekstual, yang mengungkapkan bukti fenotextual dan genotextual yang menambah kedalaman emosional dan kompleksitas dalam film. lnterteks Scheherazade (Z017) menunjukkan penggunaan kutipan tidak langsung, dcngan mcnyoroti perjuangan emosional bersama melalui kunjungan yang rahasia, reaksi fisik, (ian keengganan untuk lnengungkapkan peiasaan. Motif lainpre nielambangkan keberadaan yang iersembunyi dan keinginan. English Abstract

This research examines the intertextual connections in the film Drive My Car (2021) and explores the techniques employed and their implications. Through the analysis of three intertexts, namely Scheherazade (2017), Waiting for Godot (1953), and Uncle Vanya (1959), a deeper understanding of the narratives complexities and thematic resonances is achieved. The study reveals the use of both direct and indirect quotation as intertextual techniques, unveiling phenotextual and genotextual evidence that adds emotional depth and complexity to the film. The rntertext of Scheherazade (2017) demonstrates the use of indirect quotation, highlighting shared emotional struggles through covert visits, physical reactions, and hesitancy to confess feelings. The motive of the lamprey symbolizes concealed existence and desire. In the intertext of Waiting for Godot (1953), direct quotation is employed through the re-enactment of the play "within the filnfs theatrical context, inviting viewers to contemplate themes of waiting, existential absurdity, and the power of storytehirig. The inteitext of Uncle Vanya (i959) emerges the dominant intertcxt, utilizing direct quotation to reflect the protagonists transfomrative journey, as he confronts his emotional struggles and ernbraces acceptance and resolution. The findings highlight the ll’llf1C€il€ connections and thematic depth achieved through inteitextdality, providing a thought-p1'c-voking and emotionally resonant cinematic experience. The research suggests further exploration of cirienialic adaptations of literary WO!'l(S, comparative analysis, and audience studies
