Abstract

Perkembangan film Indonesia dewasa ini semakin berkualitas dengan banyak meraih penghargaan dari festival film dunia. Salah satu film Indonesia tersebut adalah Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak karya Mouly Surya. Dengan mengangkat tema tentang seorang wanita yang memperjuangkan keadilan atas hak-haknya yang telah direnggut oleh kaum patriarki seringkali dijumpai kondisi psikologis wanita yang sangat mengenaskan akibat praktik penindasan tersebut. Isu-isu psikologis dan kesehatan mental dewasa ini juga menjadi topik hangat. Dengan berorientasi pada pentingnya kesehatan mental, penelitian ini akan berfokus pada analisis psikologi tokoh, yaitu klasifikasi emosi, kategori pengekspresian emosi dan hubungannya dengan konflik yang terjadi pada tokoh utama. Kajian psikologi sastra akan menjadi dasar penelitian ini dengan berlandaskan teori klasifikasi emosi David Krech, kategori pengekspresian emosi Matsumoto, klasifikasi konflik tokoh karya sastra Nurgiyantoro, dan bentuk penyelesaian konflik Horney. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data utama adalah film Marlina Si Pembunuh Dalam Empat Babak. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik dokumentasi, teknik transkripsi, dan teknik penerjemahan, lalu dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Teknik triangulasi metode dan ketekunan pengamatan digunakan untuk mengecek keabsahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emosi-emosi tokoh Marlina termasuk ke dalam teori klasifikasi emosi oleh David Krech dengan didominasi oleh emosi takut, sedih, marah, dan benci. Kategori pengekspresian emosi yang dimunculkan oleh Marlina pun menurut teori Matsumoto juga beragam dengan didominasi oleh noinhibition dan amplify. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Marlina lebih stabil dalam mengekspresikan emosinya namun terkadang ia juga tidak bisa mengontrolnya. Konflik-konflik yang dialami Marlina juga termasuk ke dalam teori konflik tokoh karya sastra oleh Nurgiyantoro dan juga berhubungan dengan emosi tokoh, yaitu sebagai penyebab munculnya emosi yang nantinya berperan sebagai upaya dalam bentuk penyelesaian konflik. Menurut teori Horney, Marlina lebih memilih menyelesaikan konflik dengan menghindar atau agresif, artinya ia sebagai wanita korban penindasan masih ada tekad untuk melawan namun sering kali ia tidak berdaya dan lebih memilih menghindar.

English Abstract

The development of Indonesian films in recent years has been increasingly high-quality, with many of them receiving awards from international film festivals. One of these Indonesian films is "Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts" by Mouly Surya. By addressing the theme of a woman fighting for justice for the rights that have been taken away by the patriarchal society, the film often depicts the distressing psychological conditions experienced by women due to oppressive practices. Psychological and mental health issues have also become hot topics in recent times. With a focus on the importance of mental health, this study will analyze the psychology of the characters, specifically the classification of emotions, categories of emotional expression, and their relationship with the conflicts experienced by the main character. The study of psychological literature will serve as the foundation for this research, drawing from the theory of emotional classification by David Krech, the categories of emotional expression by Matsumoto, the classification of character conflicts in literature by Nurgiyantoro, and the forms of conflict resolution by Horney. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, with the main data source being the film "Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts." Data will be collected through documentation, transcription, and translation techniques, which will then be analyzed using content analysis techniques. Triangulation of methods and observational perseverance will be employed to ensure the validity of the data. The research findings indicate that the emotions experienced by the character Marlina fall into the emotional classification theory proposed by David Krech, predominantly characterized by fear, sadness, anger, and hatred. Marlina's expressions of emotions, according to Matsumoto's theory, also vary, with a dominance of uninhibited and amplified expressions. This suggests that Marlina is more stable in expressing her emotions, but at times, she struggles to control them. The conflicts experienced by Marlina also align with Nurgiyantoro's theory of character conflicts in literature and are related to the character's emotions, as they serve as the catalyst for the emergence of emotions that later contribute to the resolution of conflicts. According to Horney's theory, Marlina tends to resolve conflicts by either avoiding them or being aggressive, indicating that as a victim of oppression, she still possesses the determination to fight back, but often feels powerless and chooses to avoid confrontations.
