Abstract

Negara Indonesia diharapkan dapat menempatkan pendidikan sebagai wadah yang dapat menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan dapat berdaya saing di kancah nasional dan internasional. Kinerja guru memiliki pengaruh dan kontribusi yang sangat besar terhadap mutu pendidikan. Namun kenyataan di lapangan menyatakan kinerja guru Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) di Indonesia masih rendah, baik dari segi kompetensi, pengetahuan, maupun keahlian pedagogik. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif asosiatif dengan metode survey. metode penelitian yang berlandaskan pada filsafat positivisme, digunakan untuk meneliti pada populasi atau sampel tertentu, pengumpulan data, menggunakan instrumen penelitian, analisis data bersifat kuantitatif atau statistik dengan tujuan untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah ditetapkan. Nilai koefisiensi determinasi dapat dilihat dari output Adjusted R Square (R2) sebesar 0,513 dengan arti variabel Coaching Style Leadership Kepala Sekolah memberikan pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel kinerja guru PNS SMP Negeri sebesar 51,3% dan sisanya 48,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lainnya diluar variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini. Coaching style leadership kepala sekolah telah terlaksana dengan baik pada SMP Negeri di Lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan Kota Malang, hal ini didukung dengan kepala sekolah yang telah berfokus pada pemberian motivasi, pendampingan dan pembinaan kerja dengan bentuk memberikan penghargaan atas capaian yang telah dilakukan para guru. Namun, terdapat hal perlu diperhatikan kembali seperti adanya karakter guru yang kurang bersosialisasi menjadi salah satu penghambat terlaksana dengan baik coaching style leadership kepala sekolah.

English Abstract

It is hoped that the Indonesian state can use education as a vehicle to produce superior human resources and be competitive at the national and international levels. Teacher performance has a very large influence on and contribution to the quality of education. However, the reality on the ground states that the performance of Civil Service (PNS) teachers in Indonesia is still low, both in terms of competence, knowledge, and pedagogical skills. In this study, an associative quantitative approach was used with the survey method. Research methods based on the philosophy of positivism are used to examine certain populations or samples, collect data, use research instruments, and analyze quantitative or statistical data with the aim of testing established hypotheses. The coefficient of determination can be seen from the Adjusted R Square (R2) output of 0.513, which means that the Coaching Style Leadership variable of the School Principal has a significant effect on the performance variable of PNS Public Middle School teachers by 51.3% and the remaining 48.7% is influenced by factors other than the independent variables in this study. Coaching style leadership for school principals has been well implemented at Public Middle Schools in the Malang City Education Office. However, there are things that need to be considered again, such as the teacher's character who lacks socialization which is one of the obstacles to the successful implementation of coaching style leadership by school principals.
