Abstract
Indonesia adalah negara dengan iklim tropis karena letaknya yang berada di garis khatulistiwa yang mengakibatkanaIndonesia mengalami panas sepanjang tahun dengan suhu yang relatif tinggi. Arsitektur tropis adalah jawaban dari bentukaadaptasiabangunanaterhadap kondisi iklim pada daerah-daerah tropis. Sejak dahulu bangunan masa lampau menempatkan iklim sebagai pertimbangan paling utama. Dengan perubahan iklim saat ini pendinginan pada bangunan masa lampau tidak lagi efektif. Namun, masih banyak bangunan masa lampau yang masi berdiri kokoh dan ditiggali dengan nyaman oleh penghuninya, salah satunya Bale Bontar. Sehingga penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pengaruh arsitektur tropis terhadap lingkungan termal Bale Bontar sehingga penghuni dapat nyaman tinggal di dalam Bale Bontar di tengah suhu yang tinggi. Untuk itu penelitian ini nantinya akan menggunakan metode kualitatif (teknik visual) dan kuantitatif (pengukuran suhu, kelembapan).
English Abstract
Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate due to its location on the equator which results in Indonesia experiencing heat throughout the year with relatively high temperatures. Tropical architecture is the answer to building adaptation to climatic conditions in the tropics. Since ancient times, the buildings of the past have put climate as the most important consideration. With the current climate change, cooling in ancient buildings is no longer effective. However, there are still many ancient buildings that still stand firmly and are lived comfortably by their inhabitants, one of which is Bale Bontar. So this research wants to know the effect of tropical architecture on the thermal environment of Bale Bontar so that residents can comfortably live in Bale Bontar in the midst of high temperatures. For this reason, this research will use qualitative (visual techniques) and quantitative (temperature measurement, humidity) methods.
