Abstract
Persepsi masyarakat terhadap landmark di Jakarta Pusat diperkirakan mulai berpindah dari bangunan bersejarah ke gedung tinggi bergaya modern. Maraknya gedung pencakar langit di Jakata Pusat yang dianggap landmark dikhawatirkan dapat mengurangi peran gedung-gedung bersejarah yang sudah lebih dahulu dianggap sebagai landmark sekaligus pusaka kota. Menurunnya peran bangunan bersejarah dapat disebabkan oleh perubahan karakter bangunan. Salah satu faktor terjadinya perubahan tersebut yaitu kurangnya penilaian signifikansi pada bangunan bersejarah. Berada di satu kawasan dengan gedung-gedung tinggi bergaya modern, signifikansi gedung landmark yang sudah berdiri lebih dari 50 tahun perlu dijaga, salah satunya melalui penilaian elemen visual fasadnya, agar gedung-gedung bersejarah tersebut dapat tetap dikenal dan berperan sebagai landmark. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai signifikansi elemen visual fasad gedung landmark bersejarah di Jakarta Pusat berdasarkan persepsi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan penyebaran kuisioner yang diukur menggunakan Semantic Differential Scale. Responden merupakan masyarakat Jakarta maupun luar Jakarta, berusia 18 tahun keatas dan sehat secara rohani, yang 100 diantaranya dijadikan sampel dengan teknik random sampling. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS dengan metode deskriptif statistik untuk mengetahui mean score penilaian responden dan regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui elemen fasad yang berpengaruh terhadap fungsi gedung sebagai landmark. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa berdasarkan persepsi masyarakat, tiap elemen visual fasad gedung landmark bersejarah di Jakarta Pusat berperan “cukup penting” hingga “sangat penting” dalam memperkuat karakter bangunan sebagai landmark. Secara simultan, elemen- elemen tersebut memiliki kontribusi yang tidak terlalu besar terhadap fungsi bangunan sebagai landmark, yaitu rentang 33,0% - 55,2%. Secara parsial, bentuk (siluet) fasad, gaya bangunan, atap, ornamen, dan warna merupakan elemen yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap fungsi bangunan sebagai landmark.
English Abstract
Public perception of landmarks in Central Jakarta is expected to shift from the historical buildings to the modern high-rise buildings. The increase of skyscrapers in Central Jakarta that are considered as a landmark is concerned that it can reduce the role of the historical buildings that have been considered as landmarks as well as urban heritage. The decreasing role of the historical building mainly caused by changes in the character of the building. One of the factors of this changes is the lack of significance assessment on the historical buildings. Located in the same area with modern high-rise buildings, the significance of landmark buildings that have stood for more than 50 years need to be maintained through the assessment of the visual elements of the facade, so that these historical buildings can still be recognized and function as landmarks. This study aims to determine the value of the visual significance of the facades of the historical landmark buildings in Central Jakarta based on public perception. This research uses descriptive quantitative method by distributing questionnaires that measured using Semantic Differential Scale. The respondents were people from Jakarta and outside Jakarta aged 18 years and above and spiritually healthy, which 100 of them were used as samples with random sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program with descriptive statistical methods to determine the mean score of respondents' assessment and multiple linear regression to determine the facade elements that affect the function of the building as a landmark. The results of this study shows that based on public perception, each visual element of the facade of the historical landmark building in Central Jakarta plays a "fairly important" to "very important" role in amplifying the character of the building as a landmark. Simultaneously, these elements have a modest contribution to the building's function as a landmark, in the range of 33.0% - 55.2%. Partially, the shape (silhouette) of the facade, building style, roof, ornaments, and color are elements that have a significant influence on the function of the building as a landmark.
