Abstract
Tanaman melon (Cucumis melo L) merupakan tanaman yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia karena memiliki rasa yang manis dan segar serta bernilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Dalam penelitian yang terdahulu, terjadi penurunan hasil buah melon. Hal ini kemungkinan disebabkan terbatasnya volume media, kandungan nutrisi dalam media serta faktor tumbuh yang tidak sesuai. Atas dasar tersebut, penelitian perbaikan media tanam dengan perlakuan pemberian unsur KCl dan pemberian EM4. Dengan dosis tertentu sehingga hasil buah melon dapat ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2022 di rooftop Lantai VII Gedung Sentral Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya, Kota Malang Ketinggian lokasi penelitian adalah sekitar 590 mdpl dengan kisaran suhu 19-30 oC kelembaban 79%-85%, curah hujan antara >1500 - 3000 mm. Media tanam yang digunakan berupa campuran tanah, arang, sekam dan kompos sampah kota yang diletakan dalam polybag berukuran 25 x 50 cm dengan berat 20 kg/ polibag. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu KCl dan EM4, masing masing faktor terdiri dari 3 level, ulangan sebanyak 3 kali. Jumlah tanaman setiap unit perlakuan sebanyak 15, sehingga total tanaman adalah 405. Sampel pengamatan dari setiap kombinasi perlakuan adalah 3 tanaman. Parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati meliputi panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, berat buah segar, tebal daging buah, diameter buah dan kemanisan buah. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan sidik ragam (Anova) dan diuji lanjut dengan BNJ (5%) menggunakan aplikasi Daastat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ragam, tidak terdapat interaksi pada semua parameter. Perlakuan KCl memberikan pengaruh yang nyata pada parameter panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, berat buah segar, ketebalan buah, diameter buah. Sementara itu, perlakuan EM4 memberikan pengaruh nyata pada parameter jumlah daun dan kemanisan buah (brix). Penambahan KCl dan EM4 dapat meningkatkan kandungan K-total dan C-Organik pada tanah. Perlakuan pembarian dosis KCl sebesar 12,12 g dan konsentrasi EM4 sebesar 50 ml.l-1 dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi melon varietas action.
English Abstract
Melon plant (Cucumis melo L) is a plant that is widely cultivated in Indonesia because it has a sweet and fresh taste and has high economic value. In previous studies, there was a decrease in melon fruit yield. This may be due to limited media volume, nutrient content in the media and inappropriate growth factors. On this basis, research on improving the planting media by treating it with Potassium chloride and EM4. With a certain dose that the results of melons can be increased. This research was conducted in August-October 2022 the rooftop of the VII Floor of the Central Building, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang City. The altitude of the research location is around 590 meters above sea level with a temperature range of 19-30 oC, humidity 79% -85%, rainfall between > 1500 - 3000mm. The planting medium used was a mixture of soil, charcoal, husks and city waste compost which was placed in polybags measuring 25 x 50 cm with a weight of 20 kg/polybag. This study used a factorial randomized block design with 2 factors, namely Potassium chloride and EM4, each factor consisting of 3 levels, 3 repetitions. The number of plants for each treatment unit were 15, so the total number of plants 405. The observed samples for each treatment combination were 3 plants. Growth parameters observed included plant length, number of leaves, fresh fruit weight, fruit flesh thickness, fruit diameter and fruit sweetness. Observational data were analyzed using variance (Anova) and further tested with BNJ (5%) using the Daastat application. Based on the results of analysis of variance, there is no interaction on all parameters. Potassium chloride treatment had a significant effect on the parameters of plant length, number of leaves, fresh fruit weight, fruit thickness, fruit diameter. Meanwhile, the EM4 treatment had a significant effect on the number of leaves and fruit sweetness (brix) parameters. The addition of Potassium chloride and EM4 can increase the content of K-total and C-Organic in the soil. Treatment with a dose of 12.12 g of Potassium chloride and 50 ml.l-1 of EM4 could increase the growth and production of action variety melons.
