Abstract
Ekosistem mangrove merupakan ekosistem yang terletak diantara ekosistem daratan dan lautan. Salah satu biota yang menghuni kawasan mangrove adalah gastropoda. Habitat Gastropoda di sepanjang pantai dan umumnya banyak ditemukan pada perairan dangkal. Gastropoda dapat berperan sebagai grazer, scavenger, detritivor, deposit feeder, suspension feeder dan parasite. Mereka adalah indikator biologis yang berguna untuk polusi lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memahami kekayaan spesies dari gastropoda di lingkungan mangrove. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas gastropoda pada vegetasi mangrove serta hubungannya dengan parameter lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2023 di kawasan Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) Tiga Warna. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan melakukan observasi secara langsung melalui objek yang diteliti dan purposive sampling dengan kriteria tertentu yakni perbedaan jenis mangrove di lokasi pengambilan data dimana stasiun 1 merupakan area mangrove dominan Ceriops tagal serta substrat berpasir sedangkan stasiun 2 merupakan area mangrove dominan Rhizophora mucronata serta substrat lumpur. Pengambilan sampel gastropoda dilakukan dengan menggunakan transek kuadran yang berukuran 1x1 m2. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan meletakkan transek kuadran 1x1 m2 disepanjang transek garis berukuran 50 m sebanyak 5 titik dengan 2 kali pengulangan sehingga pada masing-masing stasiun tedapat 10 plot pengambilan sampel. Hasil penelitian di kawasan CMC Tiga Warna ini ditemukan sebanyak 5 spesies gastropoda dari 2 famili. Famili yang ditemukan yaitu Littorinidae (2 spesies) dan Potamididae (3 spesies). Kelimpahan rata-rata gastropoda pada stasiun 1 adalah 1.66 ind/m2 sedangkan pada stasiun 2 adalah 6.50 ind/m2. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman gastropoda di kawasan CMC Tiga Warna dikategorikan rendah. Adapun nilai keseragaman di kawasan CMC Tiga Warna termasuk kategori rendah. Nilai indeks dominansi pada stasiun 1 tergolong rendah sedangkan pada stasiun 2 tergolong sedang. Parameter lingkungan di Kawasan Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) Tiga Warna optimal bagi kehidupan gastropoda pada ekosistem mangrove di Kawasan CMC Tiga Warna. Struktur komunitas gastropoda pada stasiun 1 & 2 lebih dipengaruhi oleh substrat lokasi stasiun. Spesies mangrove yang mendominasi tidak terlalu berpengaruh pada jenis gastropoda yang ditemukan di suatu stasiun.
English Abstract
The mangrove ecosystem is situated between terrestrial and marine ecosystems. One of the biota inhabiting the mangrove areas is gastropods. Gastropods can be found along the coastline and are commonly abundant in shallow waters. They play various roles as grazers, scavengers, detritivores, deposit feeders, suspension feeders, and parasites. They are useful biological indicators of environmental pollution. Therefore, understanding the species richness of gastropods in the mangrove environment is important. This research aims to explore the gastropod community structure in mangrove vegetation and its relationship with environmental parameters. The study was conducted in June 2023 at the Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) Tiga Warna area. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive, involving direct observations of the studied objects and purposive sampling based on specific criteria. The criteria included different types of mangroves at the data collection sites, where station 1 consisted of the dominant Ceriops tagal mangroves with sandy substrates, while station 2 consisted of the dominant Rhizophora mucronata mangroves with muddy substrates. Gastropod samples were collected using 1x1 m² quadrant transects. Data collection involved placing 1x1 m² quadrant transects along a 50 m transect line at 5 points with 2 repetitions, resulting in 10 sample collection plots at each station. The research at CMC Tiga Warna revealed 5 species of gastropods from 2 families. The families found were Littorinidae (2 species) and Potamididae (3 species). The average abundance of gastropods at station 1 was 1.66 ind/m², while at station 2, it was 6.50 ind/m². The diversity index value of gastropods in the CMC Tiga Warna area was categorized as low. The evenness value in the CMC Tiga Warna area was also categorized as low. The dominance index value at station 1 was classified as low, whereas at station 2, it was classified as moderate. The environmental parameters in the Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) Tiga Warna area were found to be optimal for the life of gastropods in the mangrove ecosystem. The gastropod community structure at stations 1 & 2 was more influenced by the substrate of the station location. The dominant mangrove species did not significantly affect the types of gastropods found at a particular station.
