Abstract
Parameter kimia yang meliputi: pH (Power of Hydrogen), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), Fosfat (PO4), Nitrat (NO3).
English Abstract
The Surabaya River is a fraction of the downstream Brantas River which flows from Mojokerto Regency to the Northeast and then passes through Sidoarjo Regency, Gresik Regency and Surabaya City. Surabaya River supplies 96% of the raw water needs of PDAM Surabaya. However, the quality of the Surabaya River is said to have been polluted, so it is unfit to be used as PDAM raw water. In addition, what caused the river to be declared polluted was the result of community activities around the Surabaya River. This research was conducted from January to December 2022 This study identified the effect of agricultural waste, domestic waste and industrial waste on water quality in the Srabaya River. In addition, this study will also compare the results of water quality from the pollution index method, NSF-WQI and CCME-WQI to determine the best and most relevant method for testing water quality in the Surabaya River. Data collection was carried out by crossing the Surabaya River at the Downstream Point (Karang Pilang Bridge). These data contain data with parameters collected, namely physical parameters which include: Temperature, Turbidity, TSS (Total Suspended Solid). Chemical parameters which include: pH (Power of Hydrogen), BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), Phosphate (PO4), Nitrate (NO3). And biological parameters which include: Total Coliform. The identification results in this study show that in the Pollution Index method from 2016-2021, the water quality status at the upstream point has a water quality of 100% Lightly Polluted. The midpoint is 66.67% Lightly Polluted and 33.33% Moderately Polluted. Downstream and estuary points are 83.33% Light Polluted and 16.67% Moderate Polluted. For the CCME-WQI method, the status of water quality is obtained, namely at the upstream point 66.67% Less, and 16.67% Fair and 16.67% Very Bad. The midpoint is 33.33% Bad, and 16.67% Fair and 16.67% Poor. The downstream point is 83.33% Bad and 16.67% Less. And the estuary point is 50% Bad, 33% Less, and 16.67% Enough. Finally, the NSF-WQI method obtained the status of water quality, namely at the upstream, middle, downstream, and estuary points, which were 100% bad. Based on mapping the distribution of water quality usingsoftware ArcMap with the IDW method, water quality in the Surabaya River from the upstream point to the estuary was found to be very volatile. Then, the results of the analysis of the three methods used in this study indicate that the NSF-WQI method is more suitable for water pollution control management because this method has the worst results, so it can be used as a consideration for water pollution control management.
