Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris tentang pengaruh pengungkapan perubahan iklim dan lingkungan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Metode kuantitatif dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil analisis kualitas pengungkapan perubahan iklim dan lingkungan yang didapat dari laporan tahunan dan laporan keberlanjutan perusahaan. Populasi meliputi perusahaan sektor energi yang terdaftar di BEI tahun 2016-2021. Perusahaan sektor energi dipilih karena dalam melakukan kegiatan operasinya berdampak langsung terhadap perubahan lingkungan dan alam. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling diperoleh 61 data observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengungkapan perubahan iklim dapat meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Sedangkan, pengungkapan lingkungan tidak dapat meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan karena investor tidak tertarik akan informasi dan biaya yang tidak memberikan dampak keuntungan langsung bagi mereka.
English Abstract
This study aims to obtain an empirical evidence of the effect of climate change and environmental disclosures on company performance, employing quantitative method developed based on the results of the analysis of the quality of climate change and environmental disclosures obtained from the companies’ annual reports and sustainability reports. The population includes energy sector companies listed on the IDX in 2016-2021, from which 61 samples of observable data are selected through purposive sampling. The companies are selected for having a direct impact on changes in the environment and nature in carrying out their operations. The results of this study exhibited that climate change disclosure improved the companies’ performance while environmental disclosure did not increase the companies’ performance as investors are not interested in information and costs that do not impact them directly
