Abstract
Perkembangan dan persaingan antar hotel di Jawa Timur terutama pada kota Surabaya setiap tahun semakin meningkat. Oleh karena itu, setiap pendiri usaha di industri perhotelan dan pariwisata perlu berupaya untuk mempertahankan eksistensinya dengan mengembangkan dan mengoptimalkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dengan baik dan sepenuhnya. Hal ini bertujuan demi tercapainya work performance yang dapat diwujudkan dengan self efficacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self efficacy terhadap work performance pada trainee Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dengan metode pendekatan kuantitatif, menggunakan analisa statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi sederhana. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh dengan jumlah total populasi 53 orang trainee Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) tingkat self efficacy (X) pada trainee Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya tinggi atau baik dengan grand mean sebesar 3,99, (2) tingkat work performance (Y) pada trainee Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya tinggi atau baik dengan grand mean sebesar 3,79, (3) variabel self efficacy (X) memiliki pengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel work performance (Y). Melalui penelitian ini, pihak perusahaan diharapkan perlu memperhatikan mengenai salah satu item pada work performance trainee.
English Abstract
The development and competition between hotels in East Java, especially in Surabaya, is increasing every-year. Therefore, every business founder in the hospitality industry needs to strive to maintain their existence by developing and optimizing the quality of human resources properly and fully. This is aimed to achieving work performance which can be realized with self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on work performance in Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya trainees. The type of research used is research with a quantitative method, using descriptive statistical analysis and simple regression analysis. This study used a saturated sampling technique with a total population of 53 Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya trainees. The results show that: (1) the level of self-efficacy (X) for Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya trainees is high with a grand mean of 3,99, (2) the level of work performance (Y) for Four Points by Sheraton Surabaya trainees is high with a grand mean of 3,79, (3) the variable of self-efficacy (X) has a positive and significant effect on the work performance variable (Y). Through this research, it's hoped that the company needs to pay attention to one of items in the work performance of trainees.
