Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji dan menjelaskan pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan dan kemampuan manajerial terhadap kinerja usaha yang di mediasi oleh perencanaan strategi dan keunggulan bersaing pada UKM Batik di Jawa Timur. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif (positivism), teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dengan membagikan kuisioner serta wawancara secara langsung kepada responden. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah UKM Batik di Jawa Timur yang menghasilkan produk ekspor dan omzet atau penghasilan yang dimiliki sesuai dengan undang-undang RI Nomor 20 tahun 2008, teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sampel jenuh terdiri dari 147 responden dan diperoleh data lengkap 134 yaitu 116 tergolong pengusaha kecil dan 18 pengusaha menengah. Metode analisis data dalam pengujian hipotesis meliputi statistik diskriptif dan statistik inferensial berbasis Variance Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan dan kemampuan manajerial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perencanaan strategi dan keunggulan bersaing serta kinerja usaha. Perencanaan strategi dan keunggulan bersaing berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja usaha, namun perencanaan strategi tidak terbukti signifikan sebagai mediasi antara kemampuan manajerial dan keunggulan bersaing. Sementara itu keunggulan bersaing tidak terbukti signifikan sebagai mediasi atas hubungan orientasi kewirausahaan dan kemampuan manajerial terhadap kinerja usaha.
English Abstract
The goal of this study is to assess and explain the effects of entrepreneurial orientation and managerial capability on the business performance of small and medium-sized batik enterprise in East Java with the mediation of strategic planning and competitive advantage. The data of this quantitative (positivism) research was harvested from documentation, questionnaires, and direct interviews with the respondents. The population are small and medium-sized batik enterprises in East Java that produce exported products whose revenues have met the stipulations mentioned in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 20 of 2008. Using saturated sampling, 147 enterprises were selected as the respondents. However, only 134 of which have complete data; they are 116 small enterprises and 18 medium enterprises. The data analysis and hypothesis testing were conducted using descriptive statistics and variance-based inferential statistics of Partial Least Squares (PLS). This study finds that entrepreneurial orientation and managerial capability significantly influence strategic planning, competitive advantage, and business performance. Then, strategic planning and competitive advantage significantly affect business performance. Furthermore, strategic planning does not significantly mediate managerial capability and competitive advantage, and competitive advantage does not significantly mediate the effects of entrepreneurial orientation and managerial capability on business performance.
