Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada model komunikasi ritual James W Carey yaitu melihat komunikasi erat dengan proses, partisipasi, berbagi, asosiasi dan keyakinan bersama pada perspektif Gastro Destination. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pemikiran Chicago School, dimana sejalan dengan pemikiran James W Carey dalam memaknai komunikasi diranah non transmisi, Chicago School identik dengan penelitian yang berdasarkan permasalahan sosial dan budaya dan bertujuan untuk melakukan suatu tindakan perubahan sebagai solusi. Maka dari itu penelitian ini akan menggunakan metode action riset sebagai bentuk dari solusi yang diberikan oleh peneliti. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah interpretatif. Menggunakan tipe penelitian kualitatif. Metode penelitian menggunakan siklus model action riset Kemmis & McTaggart dimana melewati tahapan perencanaan, tindakan dan pengamatan serta pengkajian ulang. Hasil penelitian sesuai dengan model komunikasi ritual James Carey, proses partisipasi diantara masyarakat dan adanya proses berbagi nilai terkait sungai sebagai budaya dan kehidupan yang tak terpisahkan dengan Soto sebagai kuliner warisan sejarah menyebabkan adanya asosiasi dan keyakinan bersama sehingga menjadi satu makna dalam membentuk Sungai dan Soto Banjar sebagai Gastro Destination Kota Banjarmasin. Adapun action riset yang telah dilakukan dengan siklus model, siklus satu, merencanakan pengembanan potensi sungai dan Soto Banjar, melakukan tindakan webinar dan lobbying dan melakukan pengamatan serta evaluasi terkait yang telah dilakukan. Siklus 2, merencanakan pengembangan konsep gastro destination, membuat aplikasi wisata “Pergi makan Banjarmasin” mengamati dan evaluasi aplikasi.

English Abstract

This research focuses on James W Carey's ritual communication model, namely seeing close communication with the process, participation, sharing, association, and shared belief in the perspective of Gastro destination. This research adopts the thinking of the Chicago School, which is in line with the thinking of James W Carey in interpreting communication in the non-transmission perspective. Chicago School is close with research that is based on social and cultural issues and aims to carry out an act of change as a solution. There for this study will use the action research method as a form of the solution provided by the researcher. The research approach used is interpretive. Using a qualitative research type. The research method uses the Kemmis & McTaggart cycle model action research which goes through the stages of planning, action, and observation as well as reviewing. The results of the study are following James Carey's ritual communication model, the process of participation among the community and the process of sharing values related to rivers as culture and life that are inseparable from Soto as a historical culinary heritage causes associations and shared beliefs so that they become one meaning in forming Rivers and Soto Banjar as a Gastro destination for Banjarmasin City. As for the action research that has been carried out with the cycle model, cycle one, planning the development of the potential of the river and Soto Banjar, conducting action and lobbying webinars as well as making related observations and evaluations that have been carried out. Cycle 2, planning the development of the Gastro Destination concept, making the tourist application "Pergi makan Banjarmasin" observe and evaluate the application.
