Abstract
English Abstract
Wader cakul (Barbodes binitatus) is one of the local fish species in Indonesia’s that live in freshwater and has high economic value. Wader cakul fish (B. binotatus) can be found in the territory of Indonesia. which is spread in the regions of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jawa, Bali and Lombok. Wader cakul fish have not been widely cultivated by the community. The market demand for wader fish is quite high, but the fulfillment is mostly from wild catches. This is the main attraction for cultivating and preserving of wader cakul fish (B. binotatus) so that existence does not become extinct and fulfillment consumption needs of wader fish can be fulfilled. Purposes of this research is to determine the effect of using different substrates on success of spawning wader cakul (B. binotatus) which includes fecundity, hatching rate and survival rate of wader cakul. The research was conduted from july 2022 until august 2022 at Nirwana Aquatic, Jl. Kedung Kandang, Malang, East Java. The method used in this research is experimental method. There are 4 treatments, using gravel substrate, palm fiber substrate, sand substrate and control. The main parameters observed in this research were fecundity, hatching rate and survival rate. While the supporting parameters observed were water quality in the medium for rearing wader cakul fish larvae (B. binotatus) including temperature, DO and pH. Data analysis was carried out using analysis of diversity (ANOVA) and proceed with the BNT test. The results of the research at Nirwana Aquatic, Malang, East Java, the highest fecundity was found in treatment C (gravel substrate) with an average number of 2,477 grains while the lowest was found in treatment A (palm fiber substrate) with an average number of 1,096 grains. Statistical analysis that has been carried out shows that the results of using different substrates have very significant different effects between treatments. The highest hatching rate was found in treatment C with an average number of 86.56%, while the lowest was found in treatment A with an average number of 76.35%. Statistical analysis that has been carried out shows that the results of using different substrates have significantly different effects between treatments. The highest survival rate was found in treatment C with an average of 81.41% while the lowest was found in treatment A with an average of 62.93%. Statistical analysis that has been carried out shows that the results of using different substrates have significantly different effects between treatments. The water quality during the research was still within optimal limits for the life of the cakul wader fish (B. binotatus), the temperature ranged from 21-30 oC, pH ranged from 6-7 and DO ranged from 7.43-8.9 mg/l. It was concluded that the use of different substrates had an effect on the fecundity, hatching rate and survival rate of wader cakul with the best results found in the multiplication of gravel substrates.
