Abstract
Spektum autisme didefinisikan sebagai kondisi dimana adanya gangguan fungsi otak yang menyebabkan gangguan emosi serta kemampuan memproses sensori berakibat terganggunya kemampuan dalam sosialisasi, komunikasi, perilaku maupun berekspresi terhadap keinginannya sendiri. Deteksi dini ciri autisme adalah tindakan preventif yang sangat dianjurkan bagi seluruh orang tua agar anak segera mendapat bimbingan sesuai kebutuhan dan kemampuannya dapat dimaksimalkan. Namun tidak seluruh orang tua mengetahui dan dapat mengenali ciri spektrum autisme lebih awal. Oleh karena itu dirancanglah sebuah solusi menggunakan ilmu komunikasi visual berupa buku ilustrasi yang ditujukkan bagi usia 20-35 tahun sebagai upaya mengedukasi ciri spektrum autisme. Peneliti menggunakan Mix method, yaitu observasi, wawancara, kuisioner, studi literature. Output penelitian menggunakan gaya ilustrasi kartunis serta memakai warna beragam yang sesuai agar dapat menarik bagi target audiens. Perancangan juga disertai dengan merchandise seperti gantungan kunci, totebag, stiker, serta media promosi seperti poster, x-banner, dan sosial media. Dengan adanya buku ilustrasi “Lily yang selalu spesial” ini, diharapkan edukasi mengenai spektrum autisme dapat disebarkan kepada masyarakat.
English Abstract
The autism spectrum is defined as a condition in which there is a disturbance in brain function which causes emotional disturbances and the ability to process sensory results in disruption of the ability to socialize, communicate, behave and express own desires. Early detection of autism characteristics is a preventive action that is highly recommended for all parents to know so their children can immediately receive guidance according to their needs and their abilities can be maximized. Unfortunately not all parents know autism spectrum symptoms. Therefore with visual communication knowledge, writer designed an illustrative book as an education autism spectrum for children. The writer used Mix method like observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature study for data collection methods. The research output used a cartoonist illustration style and used a variety of appropriate colors so that it can be attractive to the target audience. The design is also accompanied by merchandise such as key chains, tote bags, stickers, as well as promotional media such as poster, x-banner and social media. With the illustration book "Lily yang selalu spesial", it is hoped that education about the autism spectrum can be disseminated to the public.
