Abstract

Bengkel X belum menerapkan pengolahan air limbah yang memberikan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Minyak yang terkandung dalam oli yang digunakan termasuk komponen organik yang bersifat tetap dan sukar diuraikan bakteri, sedangkan timbal (Pb) memiliki sifat tidak dapat terurai secara hayati dan konsentrasinya tinggi terakumulasi di lingkungan. Pada penelitian dilakukan pengolahan air limbah bengkel dengan cara adsorpsi menggunakan adsorben bentonit dan cangkang telur ayam (Gallus domesticus) yang memiliki sifat ramah lingkungan dan keberadaannya selalu ada sepanjang tahun. Proses adsorpsi yaitu memanfaatkan kemampuan zat padat untuk menjerap suatu bahan atau zat pada permukaannya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik awal air limbah dan pengaruh adsorben terhadap efisiensi penurunan kadar minyak dan timbal (Pb). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar minyak dan timbal (Pb) masih diatas standar baku mutu. Pada penelitian menggunakan variasi jenis dan dosis adsorben dengan lama waktu pengadukan selama 60 menit dengan kecepatan 150 rpm. Jenis adsorben yang digunakan yaitu clay jenis bentonit yang telah diaktivasi dengan larutan asam HCl 1 M dan cangkang telur ayam (Gallus domesticus). Faktor pertama merupakan dosis bentonit yang terdiri dari 4 (empat) perlakuan yaitu 0 gram, 5 gram, 10 gram dan 15 gram, faktor kedua merupakan dosis cangkang telur ayam yang terdiri dari 4 (empat) perlakuan yaitu 0 gram, 5 gram, 10 gram dan 15 gram dengan 3 (tiga) ulangan. Adsorben bentonit dan cangkang telur ayam (Gallus domesticus) memberikan pengaruh terhadap efisiensi penurunan minyak namun tidak pada efisiensi penurunan timbal (Pb). Perlakuan adsorben bentonit sebesar 15 gram dengan cangkang telur ayam sebesar 15 gram (B3C3) menunjukkan kadar minyak paling sedikit yaitu 3,00 mg/L dengan efisiensi penurunan minyak paling besar yaitu 88,22%. Perlakuan adsorben bentonit sebesar 15 gram dengan cangkang telur ayam sebesar 10 gram (B3C2) menunjukkan timbal (Pb) paling sedikit yaitu 1,66 mg/L dengan efisiensi penurunan timbal (Pb) paling besar yaitu 52,25%.

English Abstract

X service car servistation has not implemented wastewater treatment which has a negative impact on the environment. The oil contained in the oil that used includes organic components that are permanent and difficult to decompose by bacteria, while lead (Pb) is not biodegradable and accumulates in high concentrations in the environment. In this study, service car station wastewater treatment was carried out by adsorption using bentonite and chicken egg shells (Gallus domesticus) adsorbents which have environmentally friendly properties and are always present throughout the year. The adsorption process is utilizing the ability of solids to adsorb a material or substance on its surface. This study aims to determine the initial characteristics of wastewater and the effect of the adsorbents on the efficiency of reducing the levels of oil and lead (Pb). The results showed that the levels of oil and lead (Pb) were still above the quality standards. In this study, various types and doses of adsorbents were used with a stirring time of 60 minutes at a speed of 150 rpm. The type of adsorbent used is bentonite clay which had been activated with 1 M HCl acid solution and chicken egg shell (Gallus domesticus). The first factor is the dose of bentonite which consists of 4 (four) treatments, there are 0 grams, 5 grams, 10 grams and 15 grams, the second factor is the dose of chicken egg shells consisting of 4 (four) treatments, there are 0 grams, 5 grams, 10 grams. and 15 grams with 3 (three) repetitions. Bentonite and chicken egg shell (Gallus domesticus) had an effect on the efficiency of reducing oil but not on the efficiency of reducing lead (Pb). The treatment of 15 grams of bentonite adsorbent with 15 grams of chicken egg shell (B3C3) showed the least oil content of 3.00 mg/L with the largest oil reduction efficiency of 88.22%. The treatment of 15 grams of bentonite adsorbent with 10 grams of chicken egg shell (B3C2) showed the least lead (Pb) was 1.66 mg/L with the greatest lead (Pb) reduction efficiency was 52.25%.
