Abstract

Jagung manis merupakan salah satu pangan utama di Indonesia. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik pada tahun 2016, produktivitas jagung di Indonesia mencapai 53,05 ku/ha dan mengalami penurunan pada 2017 menjadi 52,27 ku/ha. Penurunan produktivitas jagung manis dapat disebabkan oleh pengolahan tanah serta penggunaan pupuk organik yang kurang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari interaksi antara metode pengolahan tanah dan dosis pupuk kompos terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat interaksi antara metode pengolahan tanah dan dosis pupuk kompos terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung manis. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan Desa Bulupasar, Kabupaten Kediri. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus hingga Oktober 2021. Alat yang digunakan yaitu cangkul, kamera, alat tulis, meteran, gunting, sprayer, timbangan analitik, jangka sorong, tugal, tali rafia, sabit sosrok, cetok dan bambu. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu benih jagung manis varietas Exsotic yang beradaptasi pada dataran rendah hingga menengah, insektisida klorpirifos, fungisida metalaksil, herbisida glifosat, pupuk urea 300 kg/ha, SP-36 150 kg/ha, KCl 50 kg/ha dan pupuk kompos. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan petak terbagi faktorial dengan 9 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Karakter yang diamati antara lain: tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (cm), luas daun (cm), jumlah daun (cm), diameter tongkol dengan kelobot (cm), diameter tongkol tanpa kelobot (cm), panjang tongkol dengan kelobot (cm), panjang tongkol tanpa kelobot (cm), berat segar tongkol berkelobot (g/tan), berat segar tongkol tanpa berkelobot (g/tan), jumlah baris per tongkol (baris), kadar gula (brix), hasil panen jagung manis (ton/ha). Data yang diperoleh dilakukan analisis varian menggunakan F pada taraf 5%. Jika hasil analisis varian berbeda nyata dilakukan uji lanjut dengan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan metode olah tanah dan dosis pupuk kompos tidak menunjukkan interaksi nyata pada pada karakter pertumbuhan dan hasil. Perlakuan tanpa olah tanah meningkatkan tinggi tanaman sebesar 13,30% pada 21 HST, jumlah daun sebesar 11,48% pada 14 HST dan 8,14% pada 42 HST, diameter batang pada 14 HST 12,35% serta 13,37% pada 21 HST dibandingkan perlakuan olah tanah konvensional. Perlakuan dosis pupuk kompos 20 ton/ha meningkatkan diameter batang tanaman sebesar 10,11% pada 14 HST, diameter tongkol tanpa kelobot 3,33%, berat segar tongkol tanpa kelobot 8,68% dan kadar gula 6,54% dibandingkan perlakuan tanpa pupuk kompos.

English Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the main foods in Indonesia. Based on the data from the Central Statistics Agency, the productivity of corn in Indonesia is 53.05 ku/ha in 2016, then it becomes 52.27 ku/ha in 2017. This decrease in sweet corn productivity can be caused by poor soil tillage and incorrect use of organic fertilizers. The aim of this research was to study the interaction between soil tillage method and doses of compost on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The hypothesis of this research is that there an interaction between soil tillage method and the doses of compost on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The research is conducted in Bulupasar Village, Kediri Regency from August to October 2021. The tools used are hoe, camera, stationery, meter, scissor, sprayer, analytical scale, caliper, tugal, raffia, sickle, masonry trowel, and bamboo. The materials used are Exsotic sweet corn seeds adapted to low to medium lands, chlorpyrifos insecticide, metalaxyl fungicide, glyphosate herbicide, urea fertilizer 300 kg/ha, SP-36 150 kg/ha, KCl 50 kg/ha and compost fertilizer. Furthermore, the method used is a factorial divided plot design with 9 treatments and 3 replications. The characters observed are: plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), leaf area (cm), number of leaves (cm), diameter of cob with husk (cm), diameter of cob without husk (cm), length of cob with husk (cm), length of cob without husk (cm), fresh weight of cob with husk (g/plant), fresh weight of cob without husk (g/plant), number of rows per cob (row), sugar content (brix), sweet corn yield (tons/ha). The data collected are then analyzed by using F (5%). If the results of the analysis of variance are significantly different, further tests are necessary and should be conducted with the Least Significant Difference test at 5%. The results showed that the combination of tillage method and doses of compost did not show a significant interaction on the growth and yield characters. Treatment no tillage increased plant height by 13.30% at 21 DAP, number of leaves by 11.48% at 14 DAP and 8.14% at 42 DAP, stem diameter at 14 DAP 12.35% and 13.37% at 21 DAP compared to conventional tillage treatment. Treatment of compost doses of 20 t ha-1 increased plant stem diameter by 10.11% at 14 DAP, cob diameter without husk 3.33%, cob fresh weight without husk 8.68% and sugar content 6.54% compared to treatment without fertilizer compost.
