Rachmatillah, Amira and drg. Diena Fuadiyah,, M.Si (2022) Potensi Nanoliposom Ekstrak Kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) pada Wound Healing: Studi Literatur. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
The background of this study is that curcumin in Curcuma Longa L. is effective in wound healing, but has low bioavailability and is hydrophobic, so a drug delivery system is needed. Drug delivery systems can be carried out in various ways, one of which is by encapsulating curcumin in nanoliposomes. This study aims to determine the effect of nanoliposomes of Curcuma longa extract on wound healing with diabetes mellitus from literature studies. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) method. The results of this study are based on the results of a literature review study that has been conducted by researchers, obtained a number of 10 articles, 3 articles discussing the content of curcumin nanoformulation related to wound healing. 4 articles discuss types of curcumin preparations in wound healing. In addition, 3 articles discussed the effect of curcumin on wound healing biomarkers. The conclusion of this study is based on a literature review study that has been conducted by researchers from a number of 10 articles, it can be concluded that some of the contents of Curcuma longa extract have an effect on wound healing with three main biological activities, namely anti- inflammatory, anti-oxidation, and anti-microbial in the presence of re-epithelialization by decreasing the expression of TNF-α, IL- 1β and MMP-9, increasing levels of IL-10, SOD, catalase and glutathione peroxidase, and mobilizing fibroblasts.
