Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang keragaman beberapa karakter pertumbuhan, produksi, dan komponen produksi pakan ternak pada populasi genotipe lokal Puero (Pueraria phaseoloides) Probolinggo pada kondisi lingkungan ternaungi. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimen dengan satu petak. Bahan penelitian menggunakan 200 tanaman Puero (Pueraria phaseoloides) genotipe lokal Probolinggo. Parameter produksi hijauan yang diamati adalah panjang batang, berat batang, berat daun, berat tanaman, luas daun, rasio luas daun terhadap berat daun, dan rata-rata luas daun per tanaman pada umur 60 hari setelah tanam. Analisis data menggunakan nilai keanekaragaman dibandingkan dua kali standar deviasi (σ) untuk mengetahui luas atau sempitnya keanekaragaman pada tumbuhan Pueraria phaseoloides. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman Puero genotipe lokal Probolinggo memiliki variasi karakter yang sangat luas untuk setiap karakter yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai varians (σ2) lebih tinggi dari ay dua kali standar deviasi (2σ). Keragaman karakter tersebut meliputi panjang batang, bobot batang, bobot daun, bobot tanaman, luas daun, rasio luas daun terhadap bobot daun, dan rata-rata luas daun per tanaman, berturut-turut sebagai berikut : 4000,68 > 126,5; 4,014 > 4,008; 7.486 > 5.472; 21.112 > 9.19; 125659,3 > 709; 734,92 > 54,22; dan 1995.82 > 89.34. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa genotipe lokal Puero (Pueraria phaseoloides) Probolinggo berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai bahan seleksi program pemuliaan, namun masih diperlukan seleksi lebih lanjut untuk menghasilkan galur murni unggul tanaman Puero.
English Abstract
This study aims to obtain information about the diversity of several growth characters, production, and components of animal feed production in the Puero (Pueraria phaseoloides) Probolinggo local genotype population under shaded environmental conditions. The research method uses an experimental design with a single plot. The research material used 200 Puero plants (Pueraria phaseoloides) of the Probolinggo local genotype. Parameters of forage production observed were stem length, stem weight, leaf weight, plant weight, leaf area, ratio of leaf area to leaf weight, and average leaf area per plant at 60 days after planting. Data analysis used the value of diversity compared to twice the standard deviation (σ) to determine the extent or narrowness of diversity in the Pueraria phaseoloides plant. The results indicate that the Puero plants of the Probolinggo local genotype have a wide variety of characters for each character, as indicated by the value of variance (σ2) being higher than v twice the standard deviation (2σ). The diversity of these characters included stem length, stem weight, leaf weight, plant weight, leaf area, ratio of leaf area to leaf weight, and average leaf area per plant, respectively were as follows : 4000.68 > 126.5; 4.014 > 4.008; 7.486 > 5.472; 21.112 > 9.19; 125659.3 > 709; 734.92 > 54.22; dan 1995.82 > 89.34. It can be concluded that the Puero (Pueraria phaseoloides) Probolinggo local genotype has the potential to be developed as selection material for breeding programs, but further selection is still needed to produce superior pure lines of Puero plants.
