Abstract

Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) atau sariawan merupakan salah satu peyakit inflamasi yang paling sering terjadi pada mukosa mulut. Penderita RAS ditandai dengan meningkatnya sitokin pro-inflamasi interleukin-6 (IL-6). Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas penggunaan ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dan triamcinolone acetonide berbasis mucoadhesive patch sebagai penghambat IL-6 pada RAS secara in silico. Metode: Molecular docking dengan menginteraksikan kompleks patch daun binahong dan kompleks patch triamcinolone acetonide dengan protein IL-6. Hasil dan Pembahasan: Interaksi kompleks patch binahong dengan protein IL-6 menunjukkan energi ikatan yang lebih rendah dibandingkan energi ikatan dari interaksi protein IL-6 dengan kompleks patch triamcinolone acetonide. Melalui hasil uji drug-likeness, senyawa-senyawa daun binahong dan triamcinolone acetonide dalam sediaan mucoadhesive patch memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi dan farmakologi yang berpotensi sebagai obat Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS). Kesimpulan: Ekstrak daun binahong berbasis mucoadhesive patch secara in silico memiliki efektivitas lebih besar dalam menghambat Interleukin-6 pada penyakit Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) dibandingkan dengan triamcinolone acetonide berbasis mucoadhesive patch.

English Abstract

Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) or thrush is one of the most common inflammatory diseases on the oral mucosa. The characteristic of patients with RAS is an increase of pro- inflammatory cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6). Objective: To determine the differences of using binahong leaf extract (Anredera cordifolia) and triamcinolone acetonide effectiveness based on a mucoadhesive patch as inhibitors of IL-6 on RAS in silico. Methods: Molecular docking by interacting binahong leaf patch complex and triamcinolone acetonide patch complex with IL-6 protein. Results and Discussion: Binahong patch complex with IL-6 protein interaction resulted in lower binding energy than IL-6 protein with triamcinolone acetonide patch complex interaction. The drug-likeness test results showed that binahong leaf and triamcinolone acetonide in the mucoadhesive patch preparation compounds have anti-inflammatory and pharmacological activities that have Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) drugs potential. Conclusion: Binahong leaf extract based on mucoadhesive patch in silico has a more significant effect in inhibiting Interleukin-6 in Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) disease than triamcinolone acetonide based on mucoadhesive patch
