Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang film Bumi Manusia dengan genre historikal, kolonial maupun sejarah memiliki tampilan seni tersendiri, film ini mengusung nilai feminisme dalam merepresentasikan perempuan. Ideologi feminisme ini melahirkan kesadaran atas suatu keinginan para perempuan dari semua kalangan untuk mendapatkan hak yang sama dengan para laki-laki dan dapat terbebas dari tindakan resisme, stereotip, hegemoni, dominasi dan kekerasan yang banyak dipraktekan pada masyarakat umum. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi feminisme perempuan masa kolonial yang digambarkan pada karakter Nyai Ontosoroh dalam film Bumi Manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis wacana kritis Sara Mills. Teknik analisis data dengan cara pengumpulan dan analisis data, mengkategorikan posisi subjek-objek, melakukan analisis wacana kritis Sara Mills dan membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan hasil analisis, Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa representasi perempuan pada karakter Nyai Ontosoroh dalam film Bumi Manusia, dimana dinyatakan bahwa perempuan digambarkan melalui posisi subyek yang dipegang oleh karakter lain pada film, sutradara ataupun penulis karya adaptasi dari film tersebut yang merupakan novel dengan judul sama. Perempuan direpresentasikan memiliki keberanian yang sejalur dengan nilai feminisme itu sendiri. Terdapat beberapa pihak yang mencoba untuk menghancurkan agen feminisme pada perempuan, yang memicu perlawanan dari pihak-pihak yang memiliki aliran dan pemahaman yang sama. Nyai Ontosoroh memiliki keberanian yang besar untuk menentang ketidakadilan-ketidakadilan yang terus menerus datang padanya. Keberanian yang ditunjukkan sejatinya memiliki nilai yang positif, namun banyak pihak yang menentang keberanian tersebut

English Abstract

This study discusses the film Bumi Manusia with historical, colonial and historical genres that have their own artistic appearance, this film carries the value of feminism in representing women. This feminist ideology creates awareness of the desire of women from all walks of life to get the same rights as men and to be free from acts of racism, stereotypes, hegemony, domination and violence that are widely practiced in the general public. The purpose of this research is to find out how the representation of colonial female feminism is depicted in the character Nyai Ontosoroh in the film Bumi Manusia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with critical discourse analysis by Sara Mills. Data analysis techniques by collecting and analyzing data, categorizing subject-object positions, conducting critical discourse analysis by Sara Mills and making conclusions based on the results of the analysis. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the representation of women in the character Nyai Ontosoroh in the film Bumi Manusia women are depicted through the subject position held by other characters in the film, the director or writer of the adaptation of the film which is a novel with the same title. Women are represented as having courage that is in line with the value of feminism itself. There are several parties who try to destroy the agent of feminism in women, which triggers resistance from parties who have the same flow and understanding. Nyai Ontosoroh has great courage to oppose the injustices that constantly come her way. The courage that is shown actually has a positive value, but many parties oppose this courage
