Abstract

Kebiasan orang tua untuk mendongeng pada anak dewasa ini sudah mulai redup di era yang serba gadget. Banyak orang tua yang menganggap bahwa dongeng pada anak itu membosankan dan out of date. Terlebih lagi, banyak orang tua yang menempatkan gadget sebagai media pengalihan ekspresi atau pengganti peran orang tua dalam mendidik ataupun memenuhi keingintahuan pada seorang anak. Kegiatan untuk memuaskan rasa keingintahuan anak tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui aplikasi seperti youtube, maupun bermain game online dan sebagainya. Hal ini sudah menjadi kecenderungan umum yang dilakukan orang tua sebagai cara agar anak sibuk bermain dengan gadgetnya dan tidak menggangu pekerjaan orang tua. Respon dari keironisan di atas, penulis mencoba untuk membawa kembali cerita/dongeng- dongeng anak ke zaman digital ini melalui karya seni grafis silk screen. Dalam hal ini dongeng-dongeng anak diambil dari naskah Tantri Kamandaka yang juga terukir pada Candi Jago, Malang. Nilai-nilai moral yang terkandung dalam naskah dituangkan kembali ke dalam sebuah karya seni grafis. Adanya wujud visual yang berupa ilustrasi ini, membuat audience lebih mudah mencerna narasi dongeng yang ada pada naskah tantri kamandaka. Hasil visualisasi yang berupa karya seni grafis silk screen, juga dapat memunculkan tafsir atau makna lain ketika pengalaman pribadi dicurahkan saat menikmatinya

English Abstract

Recently, parent’s habit of telling stories to children has begun to vanish, especially in this millennial era where gadget takes so much place in human's life. Many parents assume that fairy tales are boring and out of date. Moreover, many parents place gadgets as a diversion medium of expression or a substitute for parent’s role in educating or fulfilling children's curiosity. Activities that parents assume can satisfy children's curiosity can be obtained through applications such as you tube, as well as playing online games and many more. This has become a common trend for parents to keep children busy by playing with their gadget so they will not interrupt when parents are working. In response to the irony above, the writer tried to bring stories or fairy tales back to this digital era through silk screen graphic art. In this case, children's story or fairy tales were taken from the Tantri Kamandaka manuscript which was also engraved on Jago Temple, Malang. The moral values which was contained in the text were visualized into a graphic art work. The existence of illustration as the visual form made the audience easier to digest the narration of fairy tale which was exist in the Tantri Kamandaka manuscript. The results of visualization in silk screen graphic art, could also bring out different interpretations or other meanings when personal experiences are involved while enjoying them
