Abstract
Lanjut usia adalah seseorang yang memiliki usia lebih dari atau sama dengan 60 tahun. Semakin bertambahnya usia seseorang maka seiring berjalannya waktu akan mengalami penurunan fungsi-fungsi tubuh dari segi fisik atau psikologis hal tersebut dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan kemampuan lansia dalam berinteraksi dengan lingkungan disekitarnya. Akibatnya tidak sedikit keluarga yang memilih untuk menempatkan lansia ke panti jompo dengan alasan sibuk bekerja maupun karena keadaan ekonomi yang belum sepenuhnya mampu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup lansia di masa tuanya. Oleh sebab itu pramurukti dan pemilik panti berperan penting sebagai pengganti keluarga untuk lansia agar dapat memberikan perhatian dan pelayanan kepada lansia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian studi kasus ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penanganan lansia di panti jompo lestari Kabupaten Gresik. Lebih lanjut penelitian ini akan mengeksplorasi perasaan dan pengalaman informan selama berada di panti jompo. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap 5 informan yang berada di panti jompo seperti lansia, pramurukti dan pemilik panti jompo. Beberapa alasan yang diungkapkan oleh informan diantaranya seperti merasa sedih dan senang selama tinggal dan bekerja di panti jompo, merasa kesulitan selama bekerja di panti jompo, bentuk pelayanan sehari-hari di panti jompo serta kendala dalam mengelola panti jompo.
English Abstract
Old age is when one has an age more than or equal to 60 years. The more increased one’s age, the more his/her body functions decline in physically and psychologically over time. It may result in declining in the ability of elderly people to interact with the environment around them. As a result, there is not a few families who choose to put their elderly parents in a nursing home with the reason of being too busy at work and the state of the economy which is fully unable to fulfill the seniors’ life necessities in their old age. Therefore, a geriatric nurse and a nursing home owner have an important role as a substitute family for elderly people so as to provide care and services for them. Based on this background, the purpose of the research is to find out the treatment of elderly people in Lestari nursing home Gresik district. Depth interview was conducted to 5 informants who stay in the nursing home, and they are elderly seniors, geriatric nurses, and a nursing home owner. Some reasons revealed by the informants are that there are feelings of sadness and happiness during staying and working in the nursing home, there is also a feeling of difficulty during working in the nursing home, there are also various kinds of daily services in the nursing home, and the barriers in managing the nursing home.
