Abstract
Ikan rainbow boesemani (Melanotaenia boesemani) merupakan ikan hias endemik asal Papua yang kini dapat dibudidayakan di daerah serta memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan astaxanthin buatan kedalam pakan komersil terhadap peningkatan warna dan performa pertumbuhan pada ikan rainbow. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode experimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yan diberikan yaitu (A)= tanpa astaxanthin; (B) = 1 gr/kg pakan; (C) = 2 gr/kg pakan; (D) = 3 gr/kg pakan. Parameter uji berupa kecerahan warna metode panelis dan analisa gambar, pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot, FCR serta kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengaruh penambahan astaxanthin kedalam pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kecerahan warna dan FCR, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot ikan. Perlakuan juga tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas air. Hasil persamaan regresi yaitu dengan penambahan dosis 2,2 gr/kg pakan merupakan dosis optimal bagi peningkatan warna saturasi pada ikan rainbow boesemani (Melanotaenia boesemani)
English Abstract
The boesemani rainbow fish (Melanotaenia boesemani) is an endemic ornamental fish from Papua which can now be cultivated in the region and has high economic value. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation of astaxanthin synthetic Carophyll® Pink mixed into pellet feed on enhancing body color and performance growth in rainbow boesemani fish (Melanotaenia boesemani). This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design. consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments given were (A) = without astaxanthin; (B) = dose of 1 gr/kg of feed; (C) = dose of 2 gr/kg feed; (D) = dose of 3 gr/kg of feed. The test parameters were color brightness panelist method and image analysis, growth in length and weight, FCR and water quality. The results showed that the effect of adding astaxanthin to the feed had a significant effect (p<0.05) on color brightness and FCR, but had no significant effect (p>0.05) on the growth of fish length and weight. The water quality parameters are still within the tolerance value for rainbow boesemani (Melanotaenia boesemani). From the results of the regression equation, namely the addition of a dose of 2.2 g/kg of feed is the optimal dose for increasing color saturation in rainbow boesemani fish (Melanotaenia boesemani).
