Abstract

Desa Bulukerto, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu adalah desa yang terkenal dengan pertanian apel, namun saat ini produktifitas apel telah mengalami penurunan. Oleh Sebab itu, beberapa petani membudidayakan tanaman kopi Arabika sebagai penghasilan tambahan ketika produksi apel menurun. Kopi Arabika yang sudah dikembangkan tersebut memiliki karakter khas beraroma apel. Luas pengembangan tanaman kopi Arabika di Desa Bulukerto masih belum optimum sehingga perlu adanya evaluasi sumber daya lahan baik untuk lahan yang sudah dan belum ditanami kopi Arabika. Jadi, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi potensi pengembangan tanaman kopi arabika berdasarkan tingkat kesesuaian lahan di Desa Bulukerto, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Bulukerto, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu pada bulan April 2022. Penetapan titik sampel berdasarkan Satuan Peta Lahan (SPL) dan dilanjutkan pengambilan sampel tanah. Analisis tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Tanah dan studi literatur sebagai bahan data sekunder yang digunakan untuk evaluasi lahan. Indikator yang diamati dalam penelitian ini yaitu ketersediaan air (wa) yang terdiri dari curah hujan tahunan dan lama bulan kering, ketinggian tempat (h), lereng (eh), media perakaran (rc) yang terdiri dari kedalaman efektif dan tekstur tanah, Batuan di permukaan (s), drainase (oa), retensi hara (nr) yang terdiri dari pH, C-Organik serta KTK, kemudian hara tersedia (n) yang terdiri dari N total, P2O5 tersedia dan K dapat ditukar. Analisis data untuk kesesuaian lahan aktual menggunakan metode membandingkan atau matching data antar kondisi lahan aktual dan syarat tumbuh tanaman kopi Arabika. Data Hasil perbandingan dikelaskan dalam kelas sangat sesuai (S1), cukup sesuai (S2), sesuai marginal (S3) dan tidak sesuai (N). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi lahan di Desa Bulukerto, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu secara umum berpotensi dalam pengembangan kopi Arabika, dengan kesesuaian lahan potensial yang menunjukkan bahwa seluas 438.77 ha lahan memiliki kelas S1 (Sesuai) dan seluas 82,62 ha lahan memiliki kelas S2 (cukup sesuai) dengan faktor pembatas ketinggian tempat, media perakaran, dan batuan di permukaan

English Abstract

Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City is a village that is famous for its apple farming, but currently, the productivity of apples has decreased. Therefore, some farmers cultivate Arabica coffee plants as additional income when apple production declines. Arabica coffee has been developed as a distinctive apple- scented character. The area of Arabica coffee plant development in Bulukerto Village is still not optimal, so it is necessary to evaluate land resources both for land that has and has not been planted with Arabica coffee. So, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential for developing arabica coffee plants based on the level of land suitability in Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City. This research was conducted in Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City in April 2022. The determination of sample points was based on the Land Map Unit and continued with soil sampling. Soil analysis was carried out at the Soil Chemistry Laboratory and literature studies were used as secondary data for land evaluation. The indicators observed in this study were water availability (wa) which consisted of annual rainfall and dry month length, altitude (h), slope (eh), root media (rc) which consisted of effective depth and soil texture, rocks in surface (s), drainage (oa), nutrient retention (nr) consisting of pH, C-Organic and Cation Exchange Capacity, then available nutrients (n) consisting of total N, availability P2O5, and K can be exchanged. Data analysis for actual land suitability uses the method of comparing or matching data between actual land conditions and growing conditions for Arabica coffee plants. The comparison results were classified into very suitable (S1), moderately suitable (S2), marginally suitable (S3), and not suitable (N). The results showed that the land condition in Bulukerto Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City in general has the potential for developing Arabica coffee, with potential land suitability indicating that an area of 438.77 ha of land has class S1 (suitable) and an area of 82.62 ha of land has class S2 (moderately suitable) with the limiting factors of altitude, root media, and rocks on the surface
