Abstract

Faktor penting dan perlu diperhatikan perusahaan dalam mengelola sumber daya terutama ketika proses produksi berlangsung adalah perencanaan kebutuhan bahan baku. Bahan baku merupakan faktor utama sebagai penunjang perusahaan untuk kelancaran pada proses produksi, maka diperlukan pengawasan dan pengadaan persediaan bahan baku oleh perusahaan dengan menggunakan metode EOQ. Tujuan hasil penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari bagaimana penerapan manajemen pengendalian persediaan bahan baku dengan menggunakan metode Economic Order Quantity pada suatu industri pengolahan ikan dengan produk frozen fish yang kemudian dilakukan evaluasi dan perbandingan terhadap hasil penerapan metode EOQ dengan metode yang diterapkan oleh perusahaan PT Starfood Internasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif, data yang digunakan ada data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif dengan sumber data primer dan sekunder, teknik pengumpulan datanya yaitu observasi; wawancara; dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan metode EOQ dan peramalan dengan metode time series. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku yang diterapkan oleh PT Starfood Internasional belum optimal. Perusahaan mampu memenuhi permintaan konsumen, tetapi perusahaan belum mampu dalam meminimalkan biaya persediaan. Bila dihitung menggunakan metode EOQ perusahaan dapat menghemat biaya persediaan dengan kuantitas dan frekuensi pembelian bahan baku utama yang lebih sedikit namun perlu memperhitungkan safety stock dan reorder point. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode EOQ pada suatu perusahaan perlu ditinjau kembali secara terperinci untuk mengetahui kemampuan perusahaan dalam penerapannya, dikarenakan metode EOQ memerlukan perusahaan yang mampu mengatur jumlah supply yang sesuai dengan ketentuan EOQ.

English Abstract

An important factor that needs to be considered by companies in managing resources, especially when the production process takes place is the planning of raw material requirements. Raw materials are the main factor as a company's support for the smooth running of the production process, it is necessary to supervise and procure raw material inventory by the company using the EOQ method. The purpose of this research is to study how the implementation of raw material inventory control management using the Economic Order Quantity method in a fish processing industry with frozen fish products which is then evaluated and compared to the results of the application of the EOQ method with the method applied by the company PT International Starfood. The research method used in this study is descriptive research, the data used are qualitative data and quantitative data with primary and secondary data sources, the data collection techniques are observation; Interview; and documentation. Data analysis is done by using the EOQ method and forecasting with the time series method. The results showed that the raw material inventory control implemented by PT Starfood Internasional was not optimal. The company is able to meet consumer demand, but the company has not been able to minimize inventory costs. When calculated using the EOQ method, the company can save on inventory costs by reducing the quantity and frequency of purchasing the main raw materials but taking into account safety stock and reorder points. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the EOQ method in a company needs to be reviewed in detail to determine the company's ability to apply it, because the EOQ method requires companies that are able to regulate the amount of supply in accordance with EOQ provisions.
