Abstract

Maloklusi atau kelainan oklusi merupakan oklusi yang menyimpang dari keadaan normal antara lengkung gigi atas dan gigi bawah sehingga gigi terletak tidak sejajar. Untuk mendapatkan oklusi yang ideal perlu dilakukan perawatan Ortodonti yang juga dapat mempengaruhi profil wajah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara maloklusi Angle terhadap tipe profil wajah pada pasien Ortodonti usia 6-12 tahun. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 80 sampel model studi dan foto ekstraoral wajah pasien Ortodonti yang berusia 6-12 tahun di Laboratorium Klinik FKG UB. Model studi yang dipilih adalah model studi yang memiliki relasi molar dan sebelum perawatan Ortodonti dan foto ekstraoral pasien sebelum perawatan Ortodonti. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan jenis penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan crossectional study. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan membandingkan pengklasifikasian maloklusi Angle dengan tipe profil wajah. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis didapatkan hasil sig. <0.050, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara maloklusi Angle terhadap tipe profil wajah

English Abstract

Malocclusion or occlusion disorder is an occlusion that deviates from the normal state between the upper and lower dental arches so that the teeth are not aligned. To get the ideal occlusion, it is necessary to carry out orthodontic treatment which can also affect the facial profile. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between Angle’s malocclusion on the type of facial profile in Orthodontic patients aged 6-12 years. The samples used in this study were 80 samples of the study model and extraoral photos of Orthodontic patients which aged 6-12 years old in the Clinical Laboratory of FKG UB. The study model chosen is a study model that has a molar relationship before orthodontic treatment and an extraoral photo of the patient before orthodontic treatment. This research is an analytic observational research with a cross-sectional study approach. Measurements were made by comparing the classification of Angle’s malocclusion with the type of facial profile. The results of data analysis using the Kruskal Wallis test showed sig. <0.050, so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between Angle malocclusion and the type of facial profile.
