Abstract
PT Y merupakan salah satu produsen krimer kental manis dalam kaleng terbesar di Indonesia. PT Y sedang menginisiasi penerapan manajemen mutu dengan Six Sigma, yaitu sistem manajemen mutu berbasis statistik melalui pendekatan berbasis data dan metode peningkatan berkelanjutan untuk meminimalisir hasil produksi yang cacat dan tidak sesuai dengan spesifikasi yang diinginkan (out of spec). Langkah awal dalam penerapan six sigma merupakan analisis performa produksi secara statistik dengan metode process capability. Analisis process capability merupakan analisis statistik yang dapat mengukur kemampuan suatu proses produksi untuk menghasilkan output produk di dalam batas spesifikasi pelanggan, hasil analisis process capability dinyatakan dalam indeks process performance (pp) dan process performance kane (ppk). Indeks process performance (pp) menyatakkan secara kuantitatif data produksi telah berada di dalam batas USL (Upper Specification Limit) dan LSL (Lower Specification Limit). Sedangkan indeks process performance kane (ppk) menyatakan seberapa terpusat data produksi yang menunjukkan akurasi dan presisi data untuk memenuhi target – dipusatkan di antara batas spesifikasi. Interpretasi hasil pp dan ppk adalah sebagai berikut: angka >1,33 maka proses dapat dikatakan sangat kapabel dan memuaskan, angka >1 maka proses kapabel, dan angka <1 maka proses dapat dikatakan tidak kapabel. Penelitian magang ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis process capability, membuat tren indeks process performance, serta diagram fishbone untuk mengevaluasi keragaman dan ketercapaian kualitas produksi kemasan kaleng pada bulan Maret-Agustus tahun 2020. Bagian kemasan kaleng yang dianalisis process capability adalah bagian OTC (open top can) yaitu bagian badan kaleng yang belum melalui proses filling dan termasuk ke dalam jenis tall can. Berdasarkan hasil analisis melalui grafik tren indeks pp dan ppk serta diagram fishbone, terdapat nilai pp dan ppk yang belum mencapai target dan nilai kapabel. Masalah dapat diperbaiki dengan meningkatkan performa proses produksi kemasan kaleng pada masing-masing faktor. Salah satu perbaikan untuk faktor man power dengan menambah jumlah operator produksi. Perbaikan untuk faktor measurement dengan menambah sosialisasi metode pengecekan kualitas, untuk faktor machine meningkatkan frekuensi pelumasan pada mesin. Saran perbaikan untuk faktor method dengan menyederhanakan prosedur pembelian spare-part dan untuk faktor material dengan menambah jumlah supplier.
English Abstract
PT Y is one of the largest canned producers of sweetened creamer in Indonesia. PT Y is initiating the implementation of quality management with Six Sigma, which is a statistical-based quality management system through a data-based approach and continuous improvement methods to minimize production defects that are not by the desired specifications (out of spec). The first step in implementing six sigma is a statistical analysis of production performance using the process capability method. Process capability analysis is a statistical analysis that can measure the ability of a production process to produce product output within the limits of customer specifications, the results of process capability analysis are expressed in the process performance index (pp) and process performance kane (ppk). The process performance index (pp) quantitatively states that production data is within the USL (Upper Specification Limit) and LSL (Lower Specification Limit) limits. While the process performance kane index (ppk) states how centralized production data is that shows the accuracy and precision of data to meet targets – centered between specification limits. The interpretation of the PP and PPK results is as follows: a number > 1.33 means the process can be said to be very capable and satisfactory, a number > 1 means the process is capable, and a number < 1 means the process is said to be incapable. This internship research aims to analyze process capability, create process performance index trends, and fishbone diagrams to evaluate the diversity and achievement of canned packaging production quality in March-August 2020. The part of can packaging that is analyzed by process capability is the OTC (open top can) section. ) is the part of the can body that has not gone through the filling process and is included in the tall can type. Based on the analysis results through trend graphs of pp and ppk indices and fishbone diagrams, there are pp and ppk values that have not reached the target and capable values. The problem can be fixed by improving the performance of the canned packaging production process on each factor. One of the improvements to the man factor is to increase the number of production operators. Improvements for the measurement factor by increasing the socialization of the quality checking method, for the machine factor increasing the frequency of lubrication on the machine. Suggestions for improvement for the method factor by simplifying the procedure for purchasing spare parts and for the material factor by increasing the number of suppliers.
