Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji pengaruh kinerja keuangan dan pengungkapan emisi karbon terhadap reaksi investor serta peran mekanisme corporate governance sebagai moderasi. Populasi penelitian adalah perusahaan sektor manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Hal ini ditentukan berdasarkan metode purposive sampling, terdapat 78 sampel perusahaan selama tahun 2015-2019 (390 observasi). Teknik analisis menggunakan moderate regression analysis (MRA). Hasil penelitian ini memberikan bukti bahwa kinerja keuangan dan pengungkapan emisi karbon dalam perusahaan dapat meningkatkan reaksi investor. Kepemilikan institusional berperan dalam hubungan antara kinerja keuangan terhadap reaksi investor, sehingga dapat mengurangi konflik kepentingan yang terjadi antara manajemen dengan pemegang saham. Komisaris independen, dewan direksi, dan komite audit tidak memiliki peran dalam hubungan antara kinerja keuangan terhadap reaksi investor. Komisaris independen dan kepemilikan institusional berperan dalam mempengaruhi pengungkapan emisi karbon terhadap reaksi investor. Dewan komisaris dapat mengawasi manajemen perusahaan dalam mengungkapkan informasi terkait emisi karbon yang berakibat mengoptimalkan kepercayaan investor. Kepemilikan institusional dapat menjalankan fungsi monitoring terhadap pengungkapan emisi karbon guna membangun reputasi perusahaan dan mendapatkan legitimasi dari publik, sedangkan dewan direksi dan komite audit tidak berperan dalam pengungkapan emisi karbon terhadap reaksi investor.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of financial performance and disclosure of carbon emissions on investor reactions and the role of corporate governance mechanisms as moderating. The research population is manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). And based on the purposive sampling method, there were 78 samples of companies during 2015-2019 (390 observations). The analysis technique uses moderate regression analysis (MRA). The results of this study provide evidence that financial performance and disclosure of carbon emissions in companies can increase investor reactions. Institutional ownership plays a role in the relationship between financial performance and investor reactions, so as to reduce conflicts of interest that occur between management and shareholders. Independent commissioners, boards of directors, and audit committees have no role in the relationship between financial performance and investor reactions. Independent commissioners and institutional ownership play a role in influencing the disclosure of carbon emissions to investors' reactions. The board of commissioners can supervise the company's management in disclosing information related to carbon emissions which results in optimizing investor confidence. And institutional ownership can carry out the function of monitoring the disclosure of carbon emissions in order to build a company's reputation and gain legitimacy from the public. Meanwhile, the board of directors and audit committee do not play a role in disclosing carbon emissions to investors' reactions.
