Abstract
Penelitian ini mengambil sudut pandang manajemen operasional dan Resource-Based Theory dengan fokus pada fleksibilitas sumber daya, kompleksitas produk, kinerja operasional, dan kompetensi karyawan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh fleksibilitas sumber daya dan kompleksitas produk terhadap kinerja operasional serta peran moderasi kompetensi karyawan pada hubungan fleksibilitas sumber daya dengan kinerja operasional dan pada hubungan kompleksitas produk dengan kinerja operasional. Penelitian dilakukan pada industri pertahanan Indonesia di PT. Pindad (Persero) Turen, Malang dengan populasi penelitian pada enambelas subdepartemen produksi dengan junior manager, group leader, dan operator sebagai responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan probability sampling dengan jenis proportionate stratified random sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling dengan pendekatan Partial Least Square menggunakan perangkat lunak SmartPLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fleksibilitas sumber daya berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja operasional, sedangkan kompleksitas produk tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja operasional, serta kompetensi karyawan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja operasional. Uji moderasi menunjukkan hasil bahwa kompetensi karyawan pada hubungan fleksibilitas sumber daya dengan kinerja operasional memiliki pengaruh quasi moderation yang berarti kompetensi karyawan memperkuat pengaruh fleksbilitas sumber daya terhadap kinerja operasional dan kompetensi karyawan pada hubungan kompleksitas produk dengan kinerja operasional memiliki pengaruh predictor moderation yang berarti kompetensi karyawan tidak memperlemah maupun memperkuat pengaruh kompleksitas produk terhadap kinerja operasional.
English Abstract
This research takes the perspectives of operational management and Resource-Based Theory with the focus on resource flexibility, product complexity, operational performance, and employee competence. The objective is to assess and analyze the effects of resource flexibility and product complexity on operational performance and the moderation of employee competence in the relationship between resource flexibility and operational performance and in the relationship between product complexity and operational performance. This study was conducted at PT. Pindad (Persero) of Turen in Malang, an Indonesian defense industry. The population is sixteen production sub- departments, and the respondents are junior managers, group leaders, and operators. The sample was selected using probability sampling method and proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The method of analysis is Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Squares approach. The data was processed in SmartPLS 3.0. This study finds that resource flexibility has a positive and significant effect on operational performance, product complexity does not significantly influence operational performance, and employee competence positively and significantly affects operational performance. Furthermore, the results of the moderation test show that employee competence has a quasi moderation effect in the relationship between resource flexibility and operational performance. It means that employee competence strengthens the effect of resource flexibility on operational performance. In addition, employee competence has a predictor moderation effect in the relationship between product complexity and operational performance, which means that employee competence neither weakens nor strengthens the effect of product complexity on operational performance
