Abstract
Buah takokak merupakan tanaman liar dengan kandungan quercetin yang berpotensi digunakan sebagai antioksidan untuk mencegah kerusakaan kulit. Namun, ekstrak buah takokak memiliki lipofilisitas dan kapasitas yang rendah untuk menembus barrier kulit stratum korneum, sehingga perlu dilakukan modifikasi sistem penghantaran menjadi transfersom untuk meningkatkan penetrasinya ke dalam kulit. Metode yang dilakukan, meliputi ekstraksi buah takokak, formulasi transfersom, karakterisasi transfersom, formulasi gel transfersom dan evaluasinya, serta uji stabilitas transfersom setelah menjadi gel. Hasil formulasi transfersom, didapatkan bahwa formula 3 tidak menunjukkan adanya lapisan tipis pada dinding labu alas bulat sehingga dieliminasi dan tidak dilanjutkan ke tahap formulasi gel. Hasil karakterisasi transfersom pada formula 1 dan 2 menunjukkan bahwa formula 1 memiliki rata-rata diameter lebih kecil sebesar 5,55 μm. Formula 1 diformulasikan menjadi gel dan hasil evaluasi gel menunjukkan bahwa gel transfersom ekstrak buah takokak memenuhi spesifikasi. Selain itu, hasil karakterisasi transfersom dalam gel menunjukkan bahwa transfersom tetap stabil. Sebagai kesimpulan, formula 1 transfersom ekstrak buah takokak merupakan formula terbaik dengan jumlah soy lecithin sebanyak 450 mg dan tween 80 sebanyak 150 mg karena memiliki karakteristik morfologi yang baik dan ukuran partikel yang lebih kecil
English Abstract
Turkey berry fruit is a wild plant with high quercetin content that has the potential to be used as an antioxidant to prevent skin damage. However, turkey berry fruit extract has low lipophilicity and a low capacity to penetrate the skin barrier of the stratum corneum, so it is necessary to modify the delivery system into transfersome to increase its penetration into the skin. The methods carried out include the extraction of turkey berry fruit, the formulation of transfersome turkey berry fruit extract, transfersome characterization, transfersome gel formulation of turkey berry extract and its evaluation, as well as a transfersome stability test after it becomes a gel. The results of the transfersome formulation showed that formula 3 did not show a thin layer on the walls of the round base flask, so it was eliminated and did not proceed to the gel formulation stage. The results of transfersome characterization in formulas 1 and 2 show that formula 1 has an average smaller diameter of 5.55 m. Formula 1 is formulated into a gel, and the gel evaluation results show that the transfersome of turkey berry extract gel meets the specifications. In addition, the results of the characterization of transfersome in the gel indicate that the transfersome remain stable. In conclusion, formula 1 transfersome of turkey berry extract is the best formula with 450 mg soy lecithin and 150 mg tween 80 because it has good morphological characteristics and a smaller particle size.
