Abstract

Mikroplastik adalah suatu partikel plastik yang memiliki diameter < 5 mm yang mampu menyerap berbagai macam polutan dan bersifat patogen. Keberadaan mikroplastik di perairan akan mengakibatkan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan dan menganggu keseimbangan ekosistem. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Danau Ranu Grati, Kabupaten Pasuruan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kelimpahan, bentuk, warna, dan ukuran mikroplastik serta membandingkan kandungan mikroplastik di masing-masing titik sampling pada air permukaan Danau Ranu Grati. Sampel diambil pada empat lokasi yaitu area inlet, keramba, wisata, dan outlet dengan masing-masing tiga kali ulangan yang diambil secara komposit. Tahapan dari penelitian diadopsi dari metode National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) meliputi pengambilan sampel air, penyaringan basah dan pengeringan sampel, pemurnian dan pemisahan padatan sampel, serta pengamatan mikroskop. Kemudian melakukan uji FT-IR untuk mengetahui jenis polimer plastik pada mikroplastik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelimpahan rata-rata mikroplastik pada sampel air berkisar antara 376,67 – 633 partikel/L. Bentuk mikroplastik yang ditemukan terdiri atas adalah fragmen (37,35%), fiber (28,12%), film (31,54%), dan pelet (2,98%). Warna yang didapatkan meliputi biru (24,50%), transparan (19,96%), hitam (17,25%), coklat (16,65%), kuning (16,31%), merah (3,83%), dan hijau (1,51%). Ukuran mikroplastik yang ditemukan yaitu ukuran 595 μm (26,17%), 250-595 μm (30,15%), dan 125-250 μm (43,67%). Hasil analisa uji FT-IR pada sampel ditemukan enam jenis polimer plastik, meliputi PE (Polyethylene), PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), dan Nylon.

English Abstract

Microplastic is a plastic particle that has a diameter of <5 mm which is able to absorb various kinds of pollutants and is pathogenic so it is very dangerous if consumed. The presence of microplastics in the water will cause environmental pollution and disturb the balance of the ecosystem. This research was conducted in Ranu Grati Lake, Grati District, Pasuruan Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the abundance, shape, colour, and size of microplastics and compare the microplastic content at each sampling point in the surface water of Lake Ranu Grati. Samples were taken at four locations, namely the inlet, cage, tourism, and outlet areas with three replicates each taken compositely. The stages of the study were adopted from the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) method which includes water sampling, wet filtration and drying of samples, purification and separation of sample solids, and microscope observation. Then conduct FT-IR test to determine the type of plastic polymer in microplastics. The results showed that the average abundance of microplastics in water samples ranged from 376.67 - 633 particles/L. The forms of microplastics found consisted of fragments (37.35%), fibres (28.12%), films (31.54%), and pellets (2.98%). The colours obtained include blue (24.50%), transparent (19.96%), black (17.25%), brown (16.65%), yellow (16.31%), red (3.83%), and green (1.51%). The size of microplastics found was dominated by 125-250 μm (43.67%), then 250-595 μm (30.15%) and 595 μm (26.17%). The results of FT-IR test analysis on the samples found six types of plastic polymers, including PE (Polyethylene), PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), and Nylon.
