Abstract
Era kontemporer hari ini, individu tidak lagi terkungkung dengan identitas gender yang dibawa saat dilahirkan di dunia. Seorang individu yang mengidentifikasi dirinya dengan gender berlawanan dengan jenis kelaminnya disebut sebagai Transgender. Masyarakat Indonesia pada umumnya susah untuk menerima kelompok individu transgender, yang berakibat banyak diantara mereka memiliki pengalaman pahit. Penulis sebagai individu yang masuk dalam kelompok transgender, merasakan kegelisahan mengenai pengalaman yang dialaminya. Hal ini mendorong penulis untuk menyajikan wujud identitas gender dalam bentuk karya visual, karya lukis dengan teknik digital tepatnya. Sebelum mengerjakan karya, ada beberapa tahap yang harus dilakukan. Penulis menentukan objek seperti apa yang dapat menggambarkan kegelisahan penulis mengenai permasalahan wujud identitas gender Metode yang digunakan penulis adalah tahap eksplorasi, perencanaan, dan perwujudan. Proses yang dilakukan oleh penulis dalam mencari ide dan konsep karya yaitu dengan melihat rujukan yang bersumber dari buku-buku psikologi, artikel ilmiah mengenai identitas gender, dan film dengan mengangkat tema transgender. Inspirasi visual pada karya penulis, selain dari internet, penulis mendapatkan referensi visual dari karya-karya seniman baik dalam konsep maupun visual karya. Hasil akhir dari tahapan-tahapan yang sudah dilakukan penulis adalah terwujudnya 5 karya lukis dengan teknik digital, dengan judul antara lain: Amalgamasi,Bercermin, Perjamuan, Pupa, dan Rekonstruksi. Tema yang diangkat mengenai kegelisahan mengenai wujud identitas gender dalam diri. Penulis berharap karya seni rupa ini mampu menyampaikan kegelisahan penulis bagi masyarakat, terutama bagi kalangan kelompok transgender dan memberikan sudut pandang baru mengenai pola pikir, dan rasa sakit individu transgender.
English Abstract
In today's contemporary era, individuals are no longer confined to the gender identity that was brought into the world when they were born. An individual who identifies themself with the opposite gender of their predisposed sex, is called a transgender. Indonesian society in general finds it difficult to accept transgender groups of individuals, which results in many of them having bitter experiences. The author as an individual who belongs to the transgender group, feels uneasy about the experience he has experienced. This encourages the author to present a form of gender identity in the form of digital paintings. Before working on the artwork, there are several stages that must be done. The author determines what kind of object can describe the author's anxiety about the issue of gender identity. The method used by the author is the stages of exploration, planning, and embodiment of the artwork. The process carried out by the author, in looking for ideas and concepts of work is using references from psychology books, scientific articles on gender identity, and films with the theme of transgender. Visual inspiration in the author's work, apart from the internet, the author gets visual references from several artist's works, both in concept and visual works. The final result of the stages that have been carried out by the author is the realization of 5 digital painting works, with the titles including: Amalgamation, Reflection, Banquet, Pupa, and Reconstruction. The theme raised, is about anxiety about the form of transgender identity in oneself. The author hopes that this work of art is able to convey the author's anxiety to the public, especially the transgender group and provide a new perspective on the way of thinking of transgender and their pain.
