Abstract

Wereng batang coklat (WBC) merupakan hama utama tanaman padi yang luas serangannya di Kabupaten Malang diperkirakan naik menjadi 15 hektar pada tahun 2021. Di wilayah Tumpang, Malang, ledakan populasi WBC yang mengakibatkan penurunan hasil menjadi kendala utama meskipun petani telah melakukan pengendalian WBC. Buprofezin merupakan zat pengatur pertumbuhan serangga yang selektif dan tersedia secara komersial untuk mengendalikan WBC. Dengan latar belakang buprofezin aman, dan pengendalian WBC belum berhasil, uji coba lapangan dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh buprofezin terhadap populasi WBC dan serangga predatornya di Tumpang, Malang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan sawah semi organik milik Bapak Silo yang beralamatkan di Dusun Pulungan, Desa Pulungdowo, Kecamatan Tumpang, Kabupaten Malang. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada musim penghujan bulan Oktober sampai November 2021. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok. Perlakuan terdiri dari konsentrasi insektisida buprofezin 0 ml/l (kontrol); 0,25 ml/l; 0,5 ml/l; 0,75 ml/l; 1 ml/l, dengan ulangan sebanyak 5 kali ulangan. Pengamatan dilakukan secara langsung, variabel yang diamati adalah populasi nimfa dan imago WBC, serangga predator Cyrtorhinus sp., Paederus sp., serta Micraspis sp. Pengamatan pendahuluan dilakukan pada saat tanaman berusia 60 hari, kemudian pengamatan dilanjutkan sebanyak 6 kali dengan interval 1 minggu. Data hasil pengamatan diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS Statistics versi 25. Data hasil pengamatan dilakukan uji normalitas, analisis ragam dan perhitungan nilai efektivitas insektisida. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah didapat, konsentrasi buprofezin 0,75 ml/l efektif menekan populasi WBC pada tanaman padi di Tumpang, Malang saat musim penghujan. Namun, konsentrasi buprofezin 0,25; 0,50; 0,75 dan 1 ml/l tidak aman bagi populasi serangga predator Cyrtorhinus sp., Paederus sp. dan Micraspis sp. pada tanaman padi di Tumpang, Malang saat musim penghujan

English Abstract

The brown stem planthopper (WBC) is the main pest of rice plants whose attack area in Malang Regency is estimated to increase to 15 hectares by 2021 (BBPOPT, 2021). In the Tumpang area, Malang, the explosion of the WBC population which resulted in a decrease in yield was the main obstacle even though the farmers had carried out WBC control. Buprofezin is a commercially available selective insect growth regulator for controlling WBC. With the background that buprofezine is safe, and control of WBC has not been successful, a field trial was conducted to determine the effect of buprofezine on the population of WBC and its predatory insects in Tumpang, Malang. The research was carried out in a semi-organic rice field owned by Mr. Silo which is located at Pulungan Hamlet, Pulungdowo Village, Tumpang District, Malang Regency. The time of the study was carried out in the rainy season from October to November 2021. The experimental design used a randomized block design. The treatments consisted of buprofezin insecticide concentration 0 ml/l (control); 0,25 ml/l; 0,5 ml/l; 0,75 ml/l; 1 ml/l, with 5 repetitions. Observations were made directly, the variables observed were nymph and imago populations of WBC, predatory insects Cyrtorhinus sp., Paederus sp., and Micraspis sp. Preliminary observations were made when the plants were 60 days old, then observations were continued 6 times with 1 week intervals. The observed data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 software. The observed data were tested for normality, analysis of variance and calculation of the effectiveness of insecticides. Based on the research results that have been obtained, buprofezin concentration of 0,75 ml/l is effective in suppressing the WBC population in rice plants in Tumpang, Malang during the rainy season. However, the concentration of buprofezin 0,25; 0,50; 0,75 and 1 ml/l are not safe for predatory insect populations Cyrtorhinus sp., Paederus sp. and Micraspis sp. on rice plants in Tumpang, Malang during the rainy season.
