Abstract
Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) merupakan salah satu wilayah destinasi wisata favorit wisatawan nusantara, karena menyuguhkan kekayaan nilai sejarah, budaya, serta alamnya. Destinasi wisata yang digemari adalah Gunung Merapi yang berada di Kabupaten Sleman karena menyuguhkan keindahan alam serta menyimpan potensi kesuburan. Potensi kesuburan alam di bawah gunung merapi dimanfaatkan pemerintah setempat untuk mengembangkan komoditas salak dan telah lama dikenal sebagai oleh-oleh khas bagi wisatawan. Kecamatan Turi merupakan salah satu penghasil salak terbesar dengan kontribusi >50% salak di Kabupaten Sleman. Harga salak yang baik saat itu membuat petani segera mengambil peluang itu dan serentak membuka lahannya untuk ditanami salak. Komoditas salak mulai menurun baik produktivitas lahan serta harga jualnya, pada tahun 2018 dengan harga Rp1.500-Rp2.000/kg. Kondisi ini semakin parah saat pandemi covid-19 yang menyebabkan permintaan salak turun drastis sejalan dengan penurunan wisatawan ke D.I. Yogyakarta. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka diperlukan suatu solusi yaitu pemanfaatan lahan uji coba yang bertujuan agar petani Desa Bangunkerto Kecamatan Turi dapat bergotong royong dalam melakukan riset secara mandiri guna menemukan komoditas alternatif yang potensial pada lahan mereka selain buah salak. Metode yang digunakan dalam pemberdayaan ini adalah metode PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) dimana dalam perencanaan kegiatan dilakukan secara bersama-sama dimulai mengkaji kondisi yang sedang terjadi, penggalian potensi serta peluang yang kemudian membuahkan rancangan program yang disepakati bersama, dikerjakan bersama dan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan bersama Kelompok Tani Sari Makmur pada lahan uji coba yang dikelola oleh PT Indmira. Adapun rancangan komoditas yang diuji cobakan antara lain adalah: jahe merah, jahe gajah, jahe emprit, sayuran hidroponik, akuakultur dan maggot. Berdasarkan komoditas tersebut ditargetkan agar ditemukan komoditas yang sesuai dan dapat dibudidayakan secara berkelanjutan baik aspek ekologi, ekonomi dan sosial sehingga dapat dijadikan percontohan bagi masyarakat pertanian sekitar lahan uji coba. Kegiatan diawali dengan melakukan diskusi dengan pihak terkait seperti tokoh masyarakat, KWT, poktan, perusahaan dan perangkat desa untuk mendapatkan formula terbaik sebelum eksekusi. Kegiatan pemberdayaan ini dilakukan dalam 2 periode yaitu saat magang kerja MBKM (Maret-Juni 2021) untuk komoditas jahe dan periode (Januari-Februari 2022) untuk komoditas sayuran hidroponik dan maggot. Hasil kegiatan pemberdayaan periode I menunjukan ii budidaya komoditas jahe memberikan hasil panen yang sangat baik pada jahe merah, jahe gajah cukup baik, sedangkan jahe emprit gagal total. Sehingga dapat kesimpulan bahwa varietas jahe terbaik untuk ditanam Desa Bangunkerto adalah jahe merah dan jahe gajah. Tingkat partisipasi KWT dinilai baik terbukti bahwa kegiatan budidaya jahe masih berlanjut sampai saat ini. Hasil pemberdayaan periode II didapati bahwa interupsi teknik budidaya sayuran hidroponik dapat diterima dengan baik serta berkelanjutan dalam proses budidayanya. Pada budidaya maggot ditemui kegagalan karena terjadi insiden tidak terkontrol yaitu hujan deras yang membuat maggot keluar dari tempatnya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dibuatlah modul budidaya untuk setiap komoditas yang telah diuji cobakan agar dapat dipelajari kapan saja dan dapat menjadi buku pegangan untuk dikembangkan lebih jauh.
English Abstract
The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is one of the favorite tourist destinations for domestic tourists, because it presents a wealth of historical, cultural, and natural values. The most popular tourist destination is Mount Merapi in Sleman Regency because it presents its natural beauty. The potential for natural fertility under Mount Merapi is used by the local government to develop salak commodities and has long been known as a typical souvenir for tourists. Turi sub-district is one of the largest salak producers with a contribution of >50% salak in Sleman Regency. The good price of salak at that time made farmers immediately take the opportunity and simultaneously open their land to be planted with salak. The salak commodity began to decline both in land productivity and selling price, in 2018 at a price of Rp. 1,500-Rp. 2,000/kg. This condition got worse during the covid-19 pandemic which caused the demand for salak to drop drastically in line with the decline in tourists to D.I. Yogyakarta. This empowerment activity aims to find alternative commodities other than salak fruit that can be developed by the agricultural community in Bangunkerto Village with the suitability of the existing land in the area. Based on this, a solution is needed, namely the use of trial land which aims to make the farmers of Bangunkerto Village, Turi Subdistrict, work together in conducting independent research in order to find potential alternative commodities on their land other than salak fruit. The method used in this empowerment is the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) method in which the planning of activities is carried out together, starting to examine the current conditions, exploring potentials and opportunities which then results in a program desain that is mutually agreed upon, carried out together and as expected. This activity will be carried out with the Sari Makmur Farmer Group on a trial area managed by PT Indmira. The commodity designs that will be tested include: red ginger, elephant ginger, emprit ginger, hydroponic vegetables, aquaculture and maggot. From these commodities, it is targeted to find suitable commodities so that they can be cultivated sustainably in terms of ecological, economic and social aspects so that they can be used as models for the agricultural community around the trial area. The activity begins with discussions with related parties such as community leaders, KWT, poktan, companies and village officials to get the best formula before execution. This empowerment activity was carried out in 2 periods, namely during the MBKM work internship (March-June 2021) for ginger commodities and the period (January-February 2022) for hydroponic vegetables and maggot commodities. The results of the first period empowerment activities showed that iv ginger cultivation gave very good yields for red ginger, elephant ginger was quite good, while emprit ginger failed miserably. So it can be concluded that the best varieties of ginger to be planted in Bangunkerto Village are red ginger and elephant ginger. The level of KWT participation is considered good, as evidenced by the fact that ginger cultivation activities continue to this day. The results of the empowerment period II found that the interruption of hydroponic vegetable cultivation techniques was well received and sustainable in the cultivation process. In maggot cultivation, failure was encountered because an uncontrolled incident occurred, namely heavy rain that made the maggot out of place. For this reason, a cultivation module is made for each commodity that has been tested so that it can be studied at any time and can be used as a handbook to be developed further
