Abstract

Pada Maret 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) mengumumkan penyakit COVID-19 akibat wabah SARS-CoV-2 menjadi sebuah pandemi.

English Abstract

On March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak as a pandemic. This virus mainly attacks people with weak immune systems. One of the preventions that can be done is to eat a healthy and balanced diet. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recommends eating variety of foods that can fulfill the essential nutrients for the body such as carbohydrate and protein, eating vegetables and fruits, eating foods rich in fiber and fats that are high in unsaturated fatty acids, paying attention to fat, sugar, and salt consumption, pay attention to food hygiene, drink water regularly, and reduce alcohol consumption. According to the results of the National Economic Survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency in March 2020, it was stated that the consumption participation rate of the Indonesian population in consuming fast food and beverages was still higher than the consumption of fruits and vegetables. When viewed from the average amount of consumption per day, Indonesian people still do not meet the minimum daily consumption of vegetables and fruit according to WHO. This research was conducted by collecting data from surveys that were distributed online. This research was conducted using a cross-sectional study design or a cross approach. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Test, Contingency Coefficient Test, and Lambda Test. The results showed that most of the respondents reduced the frequency of eating out and preferred to eat home-cooked meals. The relation between age, gender, occupation, and income has a correlation with changes in eating habits but the correlation has weak strength. Age and income have an influence on changes in eating habits, on the contrary gender and type of work have no effect on changes in eating habits.
