Abstract

Tanaman tebu di Indonesia banyak dimanfaatkan untuk industri dengan berbagai macam pengolahan, salah satunya digunakan sebagai pengolahan gula pasir dan dapat diolah manjadi minuman sari tebu. Terdapat mesin yang digunakan untuk pengolahan tebu seperti mesin pemeras tebu 2-roll dan 3- roll, namun mesin tersebut belom optimal dalam melakukan proses penggilingan sehingga hasil nira tebu yang didapatkan belum maksimal. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, sehingga dibuatlah rancang bangun mesin penggiling tebu sistem mekanik 5 Roller, namun keberadaan mesin masih keberadaannya masih tergolong baru sehingga perlu adanya pengujian kinerja mesin tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Menguji kinerja mesin penggiling tebu (Saccharum officinarum) sistem mekanik 5-roller. Parameter uji kinerja yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kapasitas aktual, kapasitas teoritis, efisiensi, persentase nira, dan rendemen hasil penggilingan. Penelitian ini menggunakan massa input seragam yaitu tebu sebanyak 5 kg dengan perlakuan variasi roller (2 roller, 3 roller, dan 5 roller). Dari hasil penelitian, didapatkan nilai rata-rata uji kinerja mesin penyangrai meliputi: kapasitas aktual sebesar 388,81 Kg/jam, kapasitas teoritis sebesar 502,194 m tebu/jam, efisiensi sebesar 77,43 %, persentase nira sebesar 69,38 % dan rendemen sebesar 30,62%. Dapat disimpulkan dari hasil perlakuan variasi roller yang paling optimal dalam menghasilkan massa output nira tebu sesuai yang diinginkan oleh penguji mesin penggiling tebu sistem mekanik 5-roller yaitu pada perlakuan 5 Roller. Adapun beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi data hasil penggilingan yang beragam seperti slip pada roller, diameter dan jumlah batang tebu yang digiling, faktor dari alat (belom terpasangnya hopper input & rapat tidaknya celah roller) yang menyebabkan nira tercecer serta kemampuan operator dalam mengoperasikan alat.

English Abstract

Sugarcane plants in Indonesia are widely used for industry with various kinds of processing, one of which is used for processing granulated sugar and can be processed into sugarcane juice drinks. There are machines used for sugarcane processing such as 2-roll and 3-roll sugarcane squeezer machines, but these machines are not optimal in carrying out the milling process so that the results of sugarcane juice obtained are not optimal. Based on these problems, a 5 Roller mechanical system sugarcane grinding machine was designed, but the existence of the machine is still relatively new so it is necessary to test the performance of the machine. The purpose of this study was to test the performance of a 5-roller mechanical sugarcane grinding machine (Saccharum officinarum). The performance test parameters used in this study were actual capacity, theoretical capacity, efficiency, sap percentage, and milling yield. This study used a uniform input mass of 5 kg of sugarcane with various roller treatments (2 rollers, 3 rollers, and 5 rollers). From the results of the research, the average value of the roasting machine performance test includes: the actual capacity of 388,81 Kg/hour, the theoretical capacity of 502,194 m of sugarcane/hour, the efficiency of 77,43 %, the percentage of sap of 69,38% and the yield of 30,62 %. It can be concluded from the results of the most optimal roller variation treatment in producing sugarcane juice output mass as desired by the 5-roller mechanical system sugarcane grinding machine tester, namely the 5 Roller treatment. There are several factors that affect the various milling results data such as slip on the roller, diameter and number of milled sugarcane stalks, factors from the tool (not installed input hopper & whether or not the roller gap is tight) which causes juice to be scattered and the operator's ability to operate the tool.
