Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan hal yang penting untuk masyarakat. Akan tetapi, kemampuan berpikir kritis masyarakat Indonesia cenderung rendah. Hal ini dibuktikan dari mudahnya berita bohong tersebar. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat ditingkatkan melalui berbagai cara, salah satunya yaitu dengan meningkatkan rasa ingin tahu. Peningkatan rasa ingin tahu dapat dipicu dengan menampilkan cerita yang menarik dan dekat di masyarakat. Mitos pohon keramat merupakan salah satu cerita yang dekat dengan masyarakat di Indonesia. Akan tetapi, cerita dalam mitos tersebut tidak tersampaikan secara utuh ke masyarakat. Hal ini menyebabkan rasa takut kepada pohon yang dianggap angker dalam benak masyarakat. Padahal, mitos pohon keramat memiliki rasionalisasi serta nilai kearifan lokal untuk diterapkan di masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, JurnalRosa menawarkan sebuah upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis masyarakat mengenai mitos pohon keramat tanpa menghilangkan unsur kearifan lokalnya. JurnalRosa mengemas informasi mengenai rasionalisasi dan latar belakang mitos pohon keramat di Indonesia dalam bentuk video. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh JurnalRosa dalam proses berpikir kritis masyarakat mengenai pohon keramat dan kaitannya dengan kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen posttest-only control group design. Teknik penentuan responden menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian video JurnalRosa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis masyarakat mengenai pohon keramat dan kaitannya dengan kearifan lokal. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan ketertarikan untuk mencari tahu mengenai mitos pohon keramat dan kaitannya dengan kearifan lokal pada responden dari kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mengenai mitos pohon keramat agar tidak mudah merasa takut akan suatu pohon yang dianggap angker. Selain itu, penting pula untuk menjaga nilai kearifan lokal dari suatu mitos sebagai identitas dari suatu masyarakat

English Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important for society. However, the critical thinking skill of Indonesian people tends to be low. This is evidenced by the ease with which fake news spreads. Critical thinking skills can be improved in various ways, one of it is by increasing curiosity. The increase in curiosity can be triggered by presenting interesting and close stories in the community. The myth of the sacred tree is one of the stories that are close to the people in Indonesia. However, the story in the myth is not fully conveyed to the public. This causes a fear of trees which are considered haunted in the minds of the people. In fact, the myth of the sacred tree has rationalization and the value of local wisdom to be applied in the community. Therefore, JurnalRosa offers an effort to improve people's critical thinking skills about the myth of the sacred tree without losing the element of local wisdom. JurnalRosa packs information about the rationalization and background of the myth of the sacred tree in Indonesia in the form of a video. This study aims to analyze the influence of JurnalRosa in the community's critical thinking process about sacred trees and their relation to local wisdom. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method of posttest-only control group design. The technique of determining respondents used purposive sampling method. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that JurnalRosa could improve the community's critical thinking skills about sacred trees and their relation to local wisdom. In addition, there are differences in interest in finding out about the myth of the sacred tree and its relation to local wisdom among respondents from the control group and the experimental group. Therefore, the community is expected to improve their critical thinking skills about the myth of the sacred tree so that they are not easily afraid of a tree that is considered haunted. In addition, it is also important to maintain the value of local wisdom from a myth as the identity of a society
