Abstract
Tumpangsari adalah praktik menanam dua atau lebih tanaman dalam jarak dekat. Tumpangsari bermanfaat untuk memperoleh efisiensi lahan, efisiensi nutrisi, dan peningkatan biodiversitas yang selaras dengan pengendalian organisme penggangu tanaman. Tumpangsari dapat juga dilakukan di pematang sawah dan diharapkan optimalisasi penggunaan lahan pematang sawah ini akan berdampak baik pada padi dan tanaman lain. Efek merugikan yang dikhawatirkan akan muncul akibat metode tumpangsari adalah kontaminasi zat melalui transfer zat secara horizontal antar tanaman (Lewerenz et al., 2020). Dalam penelitian ini akan diteliti dengan menggabungkan penanaman pare dan tomat bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ada pengaruh pertumbuhan pare dan tomat serta hasil panen tanaman tersebut. Penelitian dimulai dari bulan Januari hingga Mei 2022 di Desa Sukorejo, Kecamatan Gondanglegi, Kabupaten Malang. Tahapan penelitian meliputi penanaman dan pemeliharaan komoditas, pengamatan pertumbuhan, dan uji organoleptic. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara non faktorial. Total perlakuan yaitu 5 perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Uji organoleptic menggunakan uji diskriminasi triangle test untuk menilai 30 panelis terhadap produk. Variabel pengamatan pada penelitian adalah pengamatan, pertumbuhan, komponen dan kualitas hasil. Pengamatan pertumbuhan terdiri atas pengamatan jumlah daun (helai), panjang tanaman (cm), diameter batang (cm) dan luas daun (cm2). pengamatan komponen hasil terdiri atas pengamatan bobot buah segar per tanaman (g/tanaman), bobot buah segar per buah (gram/buah), jumlah buah (buah) dan hasil panen pare dan tomat (ton/ha). Analisa kompetisi menggunakan nisbah kesetaraan lahan (NKL), agresivitas, dan rasio kompetisi. Analisa data pertumbuhan akan dianalisis ragam dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf 5%. Analisa data organoleptic akan dimasukkan ke dalam Minitab untuk diolah lebih lanjut dan dievaluasi dengan rumus 1-proportion. Penilaian ekonomi menggunakan R/C ratio. Berdasarkan nilai NKL, tanaman pare dan tomat layak ditanam secara tumpangsari. Berdasarkan nilai agresivitas dan rasio kompetisi, daya saing tomat lebih besar daripada pare dalam semua pola tumpangsari kecuali pada pola tanam berseling 2:1 (Tomat + Pare + Tomat). Tidak terdapat perubahan rasa pada buah pare maupun tomat berdasarkan uji organoleptik. Semua pola tanam tumpangsari layak diusahakan karena memiliki R/C Ratio lebih dari 1.
English Abstract
Intercropping is the practice of growing two or more crops in close proximity. Intercropping is useful for obtaining land efficiency, nutrient efficiency, and increasing biodiversity which is in line with controlling plant-disturbing organisms. Intercropping can also be done in the rice fields and it is hoped that the optimization of the use of the rice fields will have a good impact on rice and other crops. The adverse effect that is feared to arise due to the intercropping method is the contamination of substances through horizontal transfer of substances between plants (Lewerenz et al., 2020). In this study, it will be investigated by combining the cultivation of bitter melon and tomatoes with the objective of seeing whether there is an effect on the growth of bitter melon and tomato plants in the yields of these plants. The research started from January to May 2022 in Sukorejo Village, Gondanglegi District, Malang Regency. The stages of the research include planting and maintaining cocmodities, observing growth, and organoleptic testing. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which was arranged in a non- factorial manner. The total treatment was 5 treatments which were repeated 4 times. The organoleptic test used the triangle test discrimination test to assess 30 panelists for the product. Observational variables in this study were observation, growth, components and quality of results. Growth observations consisted of observing the number of leaves (strands), plant length (cm), stem diameter (cm) and leaf area (cm2). Observations of yield components consisted of observing the weight of fresh fruit per plant (kg/plant), weight of fresh fruit per fruit (grams/fruit), number of fruits (fruit) and yields of bitter melon and tomatoes (tonnes/ha). Competition analysis uses land equivalence ratio (LER), aggressiveness, and competition ratio. Analysis of growth data will be analyzed for variance with a further test of Honest Significant Difference (HSD) at the 5% level. Organoleptic data analysis will be entered into Minitab for further processing and evaluation using the 1-proportion formula. The economic assessment uses the R/C ratio. Based on the NKL value, bitter melon and tomato plants are suitable for intercropping. Based on the value of aggressiveness and competition ratio, the competitiveness of tomatoes was greater than that of bitter melon in all intercropping patterns except for the 2:1 alternating cropping pattern (Tomato + Pare + Tomato). There was no change in taste in bitter melon and tomatoes based on organoleptic tests. All intercropping patterns are feasible because they have an R/C Ratio of more than 1.
