Abstract

Cabai rawit merah (Capsicum frutescens L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia. Kebutuhan cabai rawit setiap tahun meningkat sesuai peningkatan jumlah penduduk. Produksi cabai rawit harus di tunjang dengan kegiatan budidaya yang tepat. Penyebab penurunan angka hasil cabai rawit sebagian besar disebabkan oleh penyakit antraknosa. Penyakit ini di sebabkan oleh Colletotrichum sp. Pengendalian Colletotrichum sp. umumnya menggunakan pestisida kimia namun menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan dan mengganggu kesehatan makhluk hidup lainnya. Penggunaan pestisida nabati dari biji adas adalah salah satu solusi yang dapat digunakan menekan pertumbuhan Colletotrichum sp. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan 2 Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya, Balai Materia Medika Batu, PT. Glora Djaja Laboratorium Surabaya, dan Laboratorium Biosains Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengisolasi jamur Colletotrichum sp., membuat ekstrak biji adas, uji GC-MS, uji penghambatan pertumbuhan Colletotrichum sp. secara in-vitro dan in-vivo, dan pengamatan morfologi jamur menggunakan mikroskop elektron (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ekstrak biji adas mengandung senyawa turunan minyak atsiri dan fenol, meliputi Anethol 81.10%, Benzena 1.82%, Fenol 1.81%, dan 2-Methoxy-4-vinylphenol 1.23%. Pemberian ekstrak biji adas dengan berbagai tingkat konsentrasi mampu menghambat pertumbuhan hingga 84% berdasarkan hasil uji in-vitro, in-vivo. Pemberian ekstrak biji adas juga mampu melisis miselium Colletotrichum sp. pada pengamatan morfologi secara mikroskopis menggunakan mikroskop elektron (SEM).

English Abstract

Red chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is one of the most popular horticultural commodities among people all over the world, especially in Indonesia. The need for cayenne pepper every year increases according to the increase in population. Cayenne pepper production in Indonesia must be supported by good cultivation practices. Pests and diseases in chili plants are still the main cause of crop failure. The cause of crop failure in cayenne pepper is mostly caused by anthracnose disease. This disease is caused by the fungus Colletotrichum sp. Control using chemical pesticides is predominantly used to suppress the attack of the disease. However, the excessive use of chemical pesticides causes environmental pollution and interferes with the health of living things. Therefore, the use of botanical pesticides from fennel seeds may offer a solution to controlling the pathogen. The research was carried out at the Plant Disease Laboratory 2, Department of Pests and Plant Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya, Balai Materia Medika Batu, PT. Glora Djaja Surabaya Laboratory, and Brawijaya University Bioscience Laboratory. This research was started by isolating the fungus Colletotrichum sp. and made fennel seed extract, GC-MS test, growth inhibition test of Colletotrichum sp. in-vitro and in-vivo, and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Fennel seed extract contains volatile oil derivative compounds and phenol, including Anethol 81.10%, Benzene 1.82%, Phenol 1.81%, and 2-Methoxy-4- vinylphenol 1.23%. Administration of fennel seed extract with various concentrations was able to inhibit growth up to 84% based on the results of in- vitro, in-vivo tests.
